Congrats to glenvar on a great game and there first state championship. Wilson was flat and battled hard early but came up a little short. However they put there selves in position to win the game and their coach jerimiah majors incompetence cost the there state title. Take the three points and play defense instead of going for it on fourth down. Never seen a more poor decision by a coach in any league including little league. As much as I dislike casto from riverheads, if he had the talent level that coach major had the last 4 years he would probably had won atleast 2 maybe 3 state titles with them. Again though take nothing from glenvar they played a great game and congrats.

The flag was thrown before the play, we had to take the 5 yard penalty(If I am wrong about this, please let me know). No guarantee we would of made the kick again. We have been getting the two yards all year, just came up a little short. Coach Major is the leader of this great group of boys and Wilson football is where we are now because of him and his coaching staff. It's easy to be a bleacher coach! I congratulate Coach Major and his staff and all of the young men who gave us all they had, week after week! Proud to be a Hornet and very proud of my #32!

You kick the field goal period, you think casto would have kicked it? Of course he would have thats why he is a state champion coach with less talent than we have had the last 4 years. Lost 2 games this year and both were because of his incompetence and poor decision making. Hey I love wilson football, I went there and my kids do now , I graduated with jeremiah. It doesnt change the fact he should have kicked it and took the points, especially after he had just drilled one before the penalty. Why did riverheads beat us? Cause casto takes the points and kicked three field goals and we go for it every fourth down and refuse to try for three.

I was very glad to see Connor make a recovery and get back on the field this year Dercon you should be very proud of him and his team... Going to miss watching that group of boys next year!

I know Coach Major has taken a lot of criticism on his decision to go for it on 4th down and I for one wouldn't have gone for it, but I think the folks in Wilson should be glad they have him as the HC... He is helping them with much more than just football as is trying to make them into good men and someday fathers and husbands, not just good football players. I wish Major nothing but the best in the future and I hope he continues to be a positive role model for his players and students.
