Me either. All games are important, especially early season games against other P5 teams. These are games we have usually won under Jans. This team looks terrible compared to previous years to be honest. We look unprepared and our portal guys are serviceable at best.

I remember how much we hyped up those guys when we signed them. Turns out signing 3 fat DL from a bad JUCO team wasn’t a winning strategy after all.
I don’t think Jan’s puts a team together very well. never have good wings who can shoot or guards who can distribute. it’s 3 bigs , Hubbard dribbling round out top waiting for a ball screen and everybody stagnant standing around. No movement, cutting. No screens other than ball screens. It’s a poorly put together team. The man defense is so bad they’d be better off playing zone.
I guess we are goin to continue to overhelp on defense no matter what.

This is exactly the kind of game we look back on in February and identify as the difference between the NCAA and the NIT. If we want to be taken seriously, this is a game where we at least need to look competitive.
If you’d told me that with a few minutes to go we’d be 40% from 3, 100% on free throws, and tied on rebounds I would’ve taken it.
Out of all the unimpressive parts of this team, the most unimpressive is the ineptitude on man defense (a Jans man defense at that). One of the items Jans has usually excelled. They are absolutely making us look silly. Wow

I think we might’ve lost too much. Keyshawn, Cam, Melendez, etc. Last year was our year to make some noise.
We just are never a TEAM. Jans has never assembled a group of guys who finish each others' sentences.
Bigs are soft. Doesn’t bode well for SEC play. For all those waiting for tolu to leave, hope y’all are happy with this steaming pile of crap that is gonna occupy the paint this year.
Stopped watching when we were down by 4 in the first half to deal with a bit of work. Checked in at the half and we were down by like 18 so I gave up watching. Why did I even get that ESPN package? Can't I just learn to like watching 90-day fiance and that yacht show on YT TV that the wife likes, give up on sports and save some money? Damn.
The guys we got from the portal were unimpressive when we signed them. I haven’t been looking forward to basketball at all like I have the last couple of years because I feared we would suck. Only thing I can think of is the money just wasn’t there to do very much. At least I hope so because if we had plenty of money and Jan’s thought this was a good haul then we are screwed. Going backward this year and not making the tourney after being on the bubble and bounced in the first round every year is not likely to make Jans very in demand. We could be looking at a situation where he doesn’t want to be here anymore but nobody else will take him so we get stuck in purgatory. I don’t know maybe I’m just tired.
Jans had plenty of NIL money to work with. He just runs a terrible offensive system and can’t attract true, big time scorers in the portal. And he goes after too many risk players that had issues at their previous school. Bottom line, this portal haul would give Lenny’s OL portal class a run for the title as best s**t.
We lost Murphy and Kugel mainly because they were tired of playing for him. It wasn’t about the money. Until he changes his hard-nosed defense/screw offense style then you can expect similar results from all the better teams we play. May get to 5 sec wins this year
