Kind of, I guess:

"I have one job every day and that is (to) support my student-athletes, that is to support my coaches," Hermann told Gannett New Jersey. "I support Kyle and my football team every day and we’re totally focused on it."

This is why people looking to blame Julie for Kyle Flood and want them both fired are so far off base. Julie has never shown anything but the minimum required support. She knows better than to hitch her wagon to the current product.

Words are wind.
Gone with the Wind?

Scarlet O'Herman: Kyle, Kyle . . . . . Kyle, if you go, where shall I go? What shall I do?

Rhett Flood: Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.

This was also apparently from after the groundbreaking ceremony which to me reads as before the OSU debacle.

That's just boilerplate language that any AD will use for any coach working under them. You can't read anything into it either way. Raising his salary and giving him a better budget for staff is real substantive support. I've always said she supported in him in as much and AD support any coach that's working under them. Give them the resources as best you can and then they sink or swim on their own after that.

BTW I read an article recently that Blake James, the Miami AD, earlier in the season said he wouldn't execute an in season firing but of course we see what happened to Golden yesterday. So you really can't infer in either direction when statements like that are given.

Pretty disingenuous to take an out of context quote from 2 days ago and run a full article when since the quote was made Flood was pantsed on national TV & two of his peers were fired/resigned.

He (Flood) is NOT going anywhere anytime soon. A very important lesson here, she takes her marching orders from Barchi and he takes them from Christie. He (Barchi) has exactly 2 years to straighten medical school merger which is costing the University millions and millions of $$$$$$. Of course she is going to endorse him.

^not true

if enough fans make it a big deal, he'll be gone. case in point: miami.
To be replaced with another bargain basement coach. You don't have the money and if push came to shove Barchi and the BOT could care less if you play in the Patriot League or the B10. The fanbase is not threatening anyone.

Having a bunch of his defensive starters out on a gangsta rap spree put a nail in Flood's coffin. The rest is just the mop up including a couple of more B1G blow outs this year. If he stays it is only because we are broke and just can't pay the going rate for Power 5 coaching.

Isn't that 2 jobs?

(1) that is to support my student-athletes, (2) that is to support my coaches

deny, deny--flood haters and Julie lovers--she says nothing 99% of the time but when she now says this you act like she's some kind of underworld spy--face it she could have said nothing which is what is usual but chose this--and to be quite frank her and barchi have been consistent in their pro comments about flood--of course if something very new happens she can change her stance but for now .....

There is still the matter of the open investigation that can come back and bite KF in the a**.

Listen we all kinda know that Flood took chances on "questionable" character kids because the DB classes of 2011-12 didn't deliver. Cutting corners in the process was a gamble that he lost. There are consequences to those bets.

Well sports illustrated listed the RU coaching spot as 80% to be open at seasons end. Those numbers are pretty favorable

What do you want her to say " he's on the hot seat. I have zero confidence in Coach Flood". She said exactly what she was supposed to. Btw this is the kiss of death statement for a coach on his way out.

certainly seemed like a kiss of death statement to me, providing she has another candidate in mind she thinks she can get (and has the money to do it). Sort of covering her bases in case she doesn't.

I haven't seen that movie in about four decades, but I see that Netflix has it (and its two sequels.) I may have to watch it.
You should. It is a great film. Personally, I haven't watched that film in ten years, but the moment is so memorable.
