It was our ****** special teams play giving Auburn a short field on nearly every possession.

What those stats don't show is what would equate to at least another 100 yards in total offense for Auburn on kickoff returns. Due to that Auburn ended up with a number of drives starting at near midfield or better.

Which is why we should kick the damn ball into the end zone every time Saturday. If we can. Give it to them on the 25.

I'll tell you how. We came into the game with a running qb, and tried to pass the ball. Spotted them 14 pts, before we decided to run the ball down their throats. If we had started out running the ball, we would have beaten them going away. I put last year's loss on the coaches

Spotting them 14 in first 5 minutes of game....

Proved too much of a hole for us to dig out of. We beat them everywhere but where it counts. I blame that pick six on that god awful ****** crown on their field. From middle to sideline, I believe it was a 4-5 brick drop (could easily count bricks in endzone). At 2-3 inches thick per brick that's at least 1 ft in drop from middle of field to sideline. I was sitting field height and it seemed that Relf's passes were all missing high when he threw to the flats. And yes, they started on our side of the 50 most of their drives. Defense was put in tight spots all day by ****** special teams play.

Not being able to contain or tackle Michael Dyer is why we lost. Jesus, you look at those stats, we should have beaten them by 14. Defense & ST lost that game.

We led 21-14. We dug out of the hole fine. We just couldn't stop their runs to the edge. Or their return men.

The thing is, we ran the ball down their throats the 2nd quarter, and then came back out of the half throwing again and doing absolutely nothing offensively. Then we came back out in the 4th running it down their throats again. Playcalling on offense helped us lose that one.

All of this was because they were listening in to our coaches headsets. They knew what plays we were calling**

Sure we dug ourselves out of that hole, but if we'd never put ourselves in it to begin with then it would likely have been a 10+ point victory.

Remember the measurement? It was clearly NOT a 1st down...refs gave it to them. There were so many things in that game that prevented us from winning. We should win this weekend, just like we should have won last year. Get ready to for a nail biter this weekend, IMO.

That seemed like the one game where Wilson got taken to the

I agree. The defense didnt even come to the game much less participate.

woodshed. Don't know that there was realistically anything he could do about it with our lack of experience/talent at LB/DE. Our DE was simply overmatched and our linebackers made up for it by looking like ****. Amazing that Malzhan was able to take advantage of them like that and that the linebackers ended up being fine shortly thereafter.

Yep. I remember putting some numbers together after the game, and I want to say that Auburn's avg starting field position was around the 40 while ours was at the 22 or something. On top of that, I believe that we started inside our own 20 three or four times. This was not the only thing that cost us the game by any means, but if I had to point to one thing that absolutely killed us, it was special teams.
