I don't care abou the nfl. Would a mid 2000s WVU team be competitive in the Big Ten East?

Yes. Best part is they weren't heavily recruited. I was "at" their breakout game. By at I mean WV was getting smoked by Lville and I left shortly after rich rod but pat white in for the first time. The rest in history. In my defense, I didn't know they allowed you to reenter the stadium and i got watch both the comeback and usc push game at a bar.

Sheet. Half this board was at their breakout game at Rutgers the week before that Louisville game. I skipped my cousins wedding for the game, and glad I was there in the rain to see Slaton run all over the Rutgers D.

Check the box score ny friend. Pat white only had 3 carries against us. It was 3rd quarter of Lville gsme college football discovered his talent.

Who are we kidding, both kids were great. They also had a FB (Schmidt) that deserves praise. That team could have played in a NC game. Pat White was a natural dual option QB. Steve Slaton was a terrific back who could take to the house.

And they would have if they had not lost to Pitt.
You're 100% correct. Those Pitt teams were under achievers but they were loaded with NFL talent. On that evening Pitt came to play and shut down WV running game. When I would look at Pitts roster I could not understand how they didn't win a BE Title. Pitt is one of the many reasons we should never hire Wanny from ever coaching at Rutgers.

Yes because that style, performed to that degree, was very hard to defend. Like real good options, very hard to practice for.

Wasn't RichRod talking with Michigan in the days before that game? I thought that was one of the things which screwed then up a bit.

Kinda remember the weather being awful as well. It was a very low scoring game wasn't it?

This board makes me laugh . Is this thread serious ? Those guys helped administer not one, but two bcs bowl beatdowns to Georgia and Oklahoma , respectively . Two!!
I just have to scratch my head sometimes .
