Nate Clouse and other felt last week that they liked Nebraskas chances due to the depth here. He would be an instant starter here no doubt.

He should be making his decision this week so he can get to his new school and start workouts.

Have you read that he will be making a decision this week or just suggesting that it would most likely be coming soon?

Nobody is saying the kids we have at DT can't be good. The thing is they're young and inexperienced. Even Jason Peter was a backup as a RS-Fr and didn't start til he was a soph. As it's been pointed out, Suh was nothing special til his junior year.

These kids may well end up in the NFL. Right now they're untested and raw and adjusting to a new coach. Look at it this way: If they didn't need any DTs, they wouldn't be talking to this dude from Utah.
Agree about Suh to a point... Look who he had coaching him his frosh and soph years... Suh was ready to transfer after his sophomore year. Not sure how much his head was in it up to that point. Pelini may not have been a great head coach, but when he had studs on defense he seemed to be able to coach them.

Now it could be Suh needed the time to get better, absolutely. But it also could have been coaching under cosgrove.

Edit: And I agree that the coaches see we need more than what we have. Just wondering if Suh would have been better all along under Pelini...

It just makes sense he would make his decision this week or next week so he can move here, enroll for the second summer session, and be able to participate in some summer workouts.

Thought they had been targeting a JUCO DT and possibly an end as well? They do need them, especially DE.

I know we were recruiting the Juco DT out of Oklahoma, believe he was even at the spring game. However I have not heard anything about that since after spring got over and I have not seen another offer go out to any jucos lately. Maybe the staff likes where they stand better after the spring? Unless people have been offered that I'm unaware of, which wouldn't be surprising ha.

Very possible. Their system and message obviously struck a chord with him. Either that or it was that I was his waiter at Lazlo's that one time, because his career really took off after that. Was after one of his first nice games and I was like, "Hey man, nice game on Saturday." and he was like, "Thank you." Really think it was the boost of confidence he needed to blossom into what he is today.

Had I known about this encounter at Lazlo's I never would have suggested otherwise. It is clear this encounter was the difference!

Edit: not sure what happened to the smiley face... Just in case, I wasn't trying to be sarcastic, I appreciated your response. We'll try this again...

I believe the JUCO DT out of OK may be thinking of is Isaiah Johnson
