Still a flawed playoff system

Duke 7-5 will play in ACC title game for a chance at CFP berth, along with some G5 team barely ranked. Just enter the top ranked teams in order.

I would be so pissed if I am Vandy. A 10-2 SEC team has got to make a 12 team playoff, no way around it.

Let me back up. The rule is 5 highest rated conference champions are automatic. In theory American conference champ or Sun Belt champ etc. may be ranked higher.

Agreed. This acc fiasco tells us that the conference championships need to be eliminated and replaced with an extended playoff of 16 teams based on rankings.

I don’t think so with 16 teams and 8 games. If so that would mean in 2025 A&M, Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and Vandy all have to be in a 12 team playoff.
An SEC schedule isn’t what it was when you played 2/3 or more of the league every year. It’s still tough but not what it was.
