we have 2 stinkin' wins against Arkansas by 1 point (1998) and by 3 points (2008). Its sad that even with John L. "loony tune" Smith coaching that team I still can't feel very comfortable about this game Saturday.
It was the same way with basketball in Fayetteville (except zero wins instead of two, I believe) until very recently.
I share your anxiety for this game for the same reason. They just seem to have our number. But this should be our best chance if we're ever going to do it.
Ever since they moved the Arkansas game to be in between Bama and Ole Miss, we
have struggled. It's a classic trap game after a tough game with Alabama plus looking ahead to the Egg Bowl. Additionally, Jackie's last years and the Croom years didn't help matters with the win column. This year is different with it after LSU, but I wish we played this bunch earlier in the year.
lost to Nutt (he knew all about it) and lost to Crooms (he didn't know **** about it). I don't know if this has any significance as far as the game this weekend.
I think a big factor has been where it falls on the schedule too. Another factor is Little Rock. They get sky high to play that last SEC game in LR.....except this year I guess. But none the less, LSU hasn't faired much better in LR and we all know LSUs talent level.
But in Starkville, we should be okay. It will be a close game but we will sneak one out. Like 2008.
