Stone Bridge has won at least one playoff game in eighteen consecutive years. Note that that’s actual calendar years, not playoff appearances. I have to think that’s a record for Virginia. I checked some other programs that have had lots of playoff success - Hampton, Phoebus, Powell Valley, Giles, Hylton, the Salem Spartans. The closest to Stone Bridge was Phoebus, with playoff wins in thirteen consecutive years. None of the others reached double digits, with Salem and Hampton both having streaks of eight years.

I admire the Bulldogs’ program, but I’m not really a fan, per se. I just thought eighteen years in a row of at least one playoff win is an accomplishment that shouldn’t go unnoted. And in fourteen of those eighteen years, Stone Bridge won more than one playoff game.

Spartan...from a Bulldog fan and supporter, I just wanted to say thanks for recognizing that streak. I know the Stone Bridge community, coaching staff, and team take great pride in that accomplishment. During the regular season last year, Stone Bridge became the fastest program in VHSL history to reach 200 wins. With a win over North Stafford this coming Saturday, they will find themselves in their 9th State Title game in the last 18 years.

On a side note, you guys will need every bit of that Salem magic against Tusky. They will be one of the most physical and athletic teams you will see. I think your game against Martinsburg will have prepared you well. Best of luck and thanks again for the “shout out” to Stone Bridge.
