Stone Simmons is still here?
That guy played here back when we were good at baseball.
He could probably petition for several more years. Looking at his stats on Hail State website, he pitched for Furman in 2020 and here in 2021. In 2022 he pitched in 3 games before getting hurt and didn't play any in 23 or 24. So he has really only had two full seasons

He was the “coach” of my son’s age group at their fall baseball camp several years ago. Seemed like a great guy. Really pulling for him this year.

Stone's interview on Bart & Charlie's podcast earlier this week was one of the best - maybe the best - I've ever heard from a current player. Jake's one I can think of who was also very good, and I thought Shak Moore always had great interviews. All of them came off as very mature and gave thoughtful answers.

But Stone sounds like he's already been calling games on the radio. He'll have a job in the booth at some point if he wants it.

I'm pulling for him this year, hope he can avoid another injury and can play to his potential.

Thought the same. Almost didn't listen to it because I can't stand player interviews (most coaches as well) but that was excellent.
