All of BBN could band together and make a concerted effort to bombard their athletic department emails, social media accounts, etc as though we are VT fans and shower the idea with all the praise in the world. 😬

I just assumed they were gonna throw tons of money at beamer and bring him back home. Although didn't he leave while he was "head coach in waiting"? Might have burned a few bridges. I definitely don't think stoops is anywhere near the top of their wish list.

I know you're kidding but he very well could turn them around quick in a weak as water ACC. He's outlived his shelf life here but don't forget what he built KY into. He did what I thought was impossible here.
He didn’t build Kentucky into anything. He had everything he needed, that previous coaches never had. Facility upgrades. Huge recruiting budgets. Total support. And what did he show for it? Nothing. He didn’t win anything. He beat a few mediocre SEC teams every once in a while.

0-14 against Georgia. 0-4 against Chumlee at Tennessee. Can’t even beat Vandy now.

1-11 the last 12 SEC games. Mizzou has played in 2 Conference championship games since joining the league. Stoops in 14 seasons, 0.

Now, in year 14, he has us at the very bottom of the conference, while he continues to rake in $9 million a year. Nice gig huh?

He‘s the 11th highest paid coach in CFB. Uh, we’re not even close to being the 11th best team in our own conference.

IIRC...that ended really bad. I think there's some serious animosity how all the "retirement" and whatnot went down.

But he did build it. I'm not talking about Stoops in his 14th year. I'm talking about the bowl streak, the streak over USCjr, UL and Mizz. I'm talking about the recruiting classes. I'm talking about the two 10 win seasons. You can make concessions if you want but Stoops was the head coach for all of that. He coached the team to those wins. He and his staff brought in Levis, Benny, Lynn, and wandell.

Stop me if I start telling lies

This is one of the things that holds us back as a people in general. We refuse to give credit to anyone we don't like, even when it's due. You're seeing it right now on the world stage. You see it every day in sports but mostly among rivals. It's ok to say that Stoops (the winningest coach in our programs history) had success here for a time and built a respectable program.

Two things can be true at the same time.

1. He built a successful program here.
2. He is no longer getting it done.

Terrible timing for this news to break. If the team hears about this they may lose focus and that will cost us the Texas game.
OR the players see this as a chance to get him out of Lexington and play for a competent coach, and go play balls to the wall and pull the upset to "help" their coach get a new gig. Always think positive.
