Last year when James was in Jackson for charity work he came by Hooters for lunch. My two co workers were there eating. They were sitting at one of the larger tables. The manager came over and asks would they mind moving to another table. They asked why and he told them thatLebron James was out side and they needed a larger table for his group. My co-workers agreed. Why not it's Lebron James. After they moved and the Manager got everything set up, Lebron walked up to the door, turned around and said, "I am not going in and eat with a bunch of Red Neck" then left. You can take as you want but I don't like the guy.</p>

knew some people who were involved with the Mo William's camp in Jackson and said Lebron was a complete jerk. Said Dwight Howard was awesome but totally disliked Lebron.

He was at River Hills Country Club and WLBT was there filming. Kids and parents were asking politely for his autograph and he stood in the corner with his sunglasses on and shook his head at them. This was a private meeting at a well-to-do establishment. There were maybe 20 kids there, not hundreds. He was here with Mo Williams from Murrah HS for Mo's camp and he showed his *** in his teammate's hometown. I'm sure Mo had to sell that trip to Lebron for months to get him to come here and Mo was probably embarrassed for the way that he acted here.

My brother was working at Macaronni Grill, when Lebron and his posse came into eat. First of all, you're a millionare, Macaroni Grill? Really? Anyway, he had a table of about 10 people with him, and he tipped $10 on a couple hundred dollar check. Also, the manager asked him if he would mind signing a couple of autographs for some of the workers. Lebrons signsA picture, and tells her to "go make copies." My brother said he was a first class ******* the whole time.

might not be the right thread, but you've got to love Chad. (edit: I can't spell that dude's name. probably still didn't get it right)

I was indifferent towards Lebron until last night. Now I hope he loses every game and it sucks, because I like Wade.

why Rob Jay was acting all funny the other night on the news when talking about Lebron. He didn't seem to like him one bit. Maybe he witnessed this, too?

Hell, you get to play a 17ing game for a living and make an assload of cash doing it. It ain't exactly like you're doing God's work here. And the fans make it possible. Without them, you're getting paid far less. Just ask a soccer player. So when a group of kids comes up to you asking for autographs and you're feeling like crap at the moment, just think about how great you have it. The fact that they want you to sign something is the reason you're pulling down 8 figures every year. The rest of us typically lose money whenever we have to sign something. So really, Lebron, if you trip and break your ankle and can never play basketball again, I won't give one flying 17 about it.

And yeah, Ochocinco is great. He plays the game for the fans.

He literally sat in the corner the whole time surrounded by security. Jerious, Deuce, and Mo walked around spoke with people. No idea why LeBron needed that much security with a bunch of old white people at River Hills.

Maybe I misread your post, but were you meaning to say that Dwight Howard was at the Mo williams charity thing and/or camp? I never saw him if he did show, but he gives the impression he'd be a nice guy for some reason.

Howard helped do a camp in Vicksburg a few years ago and the same person met him and said he was an unbelievably nice guy. Great with kids.

I'm in the same boat. I just saw him as one of the greatest talents ever who was looking for the best chance to win a bunch of titles. No big deal, and I was indifferent as well. Something about that entire thing just aggravated the hell out of me, though.

He wrote the following, and I thought it was acccurate.</p>
In May, after the Cavs were ousted in the conference semifinals, I wrote that LeBron was facing one of the greatest sports decisions ever: "winning (Chicago), loyalty (Cleveland) or a chance at immortality (New York)." </p>

</p>

</p>

I never thought he would pick "HELP!"</p>
I really thought Lebron wanted to go down as the greatest ever. Even if he wins 3 rings, in Miami, and maybe 3 more somewhere else, it won't change his legacy, unless he throws up ridiculous stats, and becomes the clear leader on this team. The more I think about it, the more I think he simply isn't wired like Jordan, Magic, Kobe, Bird or like Tiger was. They wanted to win so bad they would kill their own teammate. Lebron just isn't that guy.

all this stories seem to be halfway true and if they are then my opinion of him completely changes.. Reminds me of whenmy neighbors went to a reds game and were staying in the same hotel as the team and their 12 year old kids went up to ken griffey jr and asked for an autograph and he said he didnt do autographs. stuff like that pisses me off

So is Michael Jordan. I just like to watch the guy play basketball. I don't look to him as a role model or any crap like that.

This is what I have said from the get go. REAL superstars don't go looking around for other teams to help them win a title. I am talking about the TRUE greats. Jordan, West, Cousy, Bird, Magic, Olajuwon, Duncan, and yes...Kobe.
LeBron is a great player undeniably but I don't think he will go down in history as the best ever and probably not even in the top 5 or so.

...just a few years ago, pro players had to supplement their income with off-season jobs. My dad and step-mom have Packer season tickets. While tailgating at Lambeau, I met a guy who was Ray Nitschke's neighbor. Said he was the most regular guy you'd ever want to meet. During the off-season, he'd go to work, come home, cut the grass, pick up the dog poop (and hope it was hard). In other words, Nitschke and his fellow players were middle class guys who had to learn to behave in public.

Nowadays, the athletes live in gated communities.

LeBron has always looked out for his posse. Through highschool, in his professional life, and now in his NBA career he has made decisionsbased on a group of people. The whole Wade & Bosh relationship is what drove this. He wants to win championships and I believe he would actually prefer to do it with those guys that he has a close relationshipwith rather than being the superstar leader of an otherwise average team. That may sound strange, but that's the way he lives his life. Not really a "me first" or "team first" attitude, but more a "me & my boys first" attitude.

He'll never be considered better than MJ - no one will be. Even if he won 5-6 championships in Cleveland he still wouldn't have been called the greatest ever. This was about doing what's best for him & his inner circle.

I thought Simmons was dead-on with that comment (hell, the whole article). Lebron is more obsessed with pushing his brand than he is with winning. That's what makes him different from the superstars you listed (Jordan, Bird, Kobe, Tiger, etc.), because those guys wanted to win because winning meant they were the best...and they couldn't stand being anything less than the best. I belive Lebron wants to win so his fame and popularity grow, which in return boosts his brand. For that very reason, I've never been huge fan of his. In the end, I think Lebron will go down as one of the greatest basketball players to play the game, but people will remember how he took the easy route to get his title(s) (if he ever gets one).

Tha King sat in the far corner of a table with shades on and his entourage surrounding him (as far away from us little people as he could get), until Mo introduced him... Most everybody clapped (not me of course) for him. He stood up, waved (shades still on) then immediately started bolting toward the door.

Mayor Johnson had to jump up to the mic and say "Wait, LeBron - we have something for you", so King skulks back into the room and gives the mayor a look like "Well...?"

The mayor handed him the key to the city, and he immediately walked out.

So, yeah, he's a F'ing punk.
