I don't think that would be a good idea. Part of being in a greek orginization at Miss State is that it isn't that greek. We have frats but they aren't that fratey. We Are Ms State.
we sometimes made pledges go save a bunch of seats, but there was no official greek section in Oxford
I used to laugh in the face of the pledges that promised doom and gloom if I didn't vacate their 'assigned seats.' Dunno how it works up there, but there were never assigned seats in the student section at MSU and the douchebags who tried to start **** summarily got embarrassed.Optimus Prime 4 said:

and kind of roped them off. It was never a big deal because most people wouldn't want to sit in the middle of an obnoxious group of frat guys and dates that they weren't a part of anyway.
That was our basic strategy too, but the GDIs wised up and just started sitting wherever they wanted and the freshmen never really said anything. The only people that ever tried to do anything I remember were the Pikes. Half their pledges would be kicked out of the game for harassment before it started.
Mostly because I can't see the fraternities really wanting that badly. And if the fraternities aren't begging for it, why else would they do it?
Early bird gets the worm...regardless if that bird is Greek or not. I remember my senior year me and a couple of friends went and got to the Hump early to get good seats for the UK game. Ended up sitting on the floor. 10 minutes before the game two of the Rowdy bunch said that those seats were only for Rick's Rowdies. I laughed in their face and told them I didn't think so. They got all pissy and said that our school would look bad on ESPN b/c we didn't match the other cool kids. I still hate Rick's Rowdies. They have stupid *** chants and think they are cool cause they got a tshirt.
so does auburn. theirs are actually open for any club, fraternity, or sorority. the groups compete for "spirit points" i think they called them back in the day, and whoever had the most points got first choice for their section for the next season.
They cant do anything about it other than just glare at you. It would have been entertaining to see one bow up.
they didnt last very long each time. They would be surrounded by a few sweaty, drunk, loud and annoying folks 3 hours before a game. Yeah, what a point you are proving. It is even gayer to "make it a point" to sit in the middle of folks saving seats than it is for said savers to talk ****. Who the hell wants to sit around of a bunch of folks they dont know?

you know what i meant. Who the hell wants to sit in the middle of 100 folks grouped together that probably dont want you there and are going to heckle you the entire game and for most that do it they are doing it just to prove a point..whatever it is? That was my point tuff guy.
we were in our "glory" years. Not to mention we didnt lost a game at home all of 98, 99 and not until the very last home game of 00....seats were a premium in the student section then.
you, Beanie, Biff, and Tucker would heckle me and my guys for all of about 30 seconds before you stopped. That being said, if the point is General Admission means you can sit wherever you want, despite what some hungover kid sitting in 98 degree heat in a long sleeve shirt and tie tells you, then I'm all for proving it.
It was my privilege to be a seat saver in '99. However, since we were pretty damn good, every body went to the game early anyway to make sure they got seats. It was useless to trust your seat to a hungover 18 year old. Even in 2000 I was there at least an hour early with a couple of flasks and stop by the boiled peanut stand.
Yeah, and still by midway through the third quarter I would say 90% of you and your frat-daddy buddies were already gone. Hard to justify getting priority seating when you don't make use of it...Roy Munson said:

My point was why would you want to? You are the exact ones i am talking about...you do it to prove a point. Would you attempt to prove your point if me and 2 others are saving 3 seats for our ladies? Like i said, nothing more than dipshits trying to prove a point than to come sit in the very middle of 40 guys that have made a box to save seats when there are over 10k other seats that they could save.
has Greek seating as well. But in order to get your "block" of seating for football games you have to have a certain amount of "Spirit Points." So you have to go to a certain amount of volleyball games, swimming meets, stuff like that to get enough "Spirit Points" to get the seats you want. Really gay....sounds like something we would do.
Also, I think everything is fine how it is, and now that they have moved the band to the end zone every GDI who wears a t-shirt and cargo shorts to the football games have effectively been dissected and removed from interaction with normal people who don't look they stopped in for a football game after a long Friday on South Beach in New Jersey.

between you and 2 friends saving 3 seats, and what the average fraternity does sending 5 guys to block off 15 rows of seats. That's the problem I have. Why should I sit in the top corner at the goal line when there's a perfectly good seat on the 40? You aren't entitled to those seats because you decided to drop a few grand on some friends while you were in college. I paid the same for my ticket that you did, and it has the same conditions and terms that your ticket do.

I dont care if you were/are in a fraternity or a sorority. Hell, my fiance wasnt in a sorority. Many of my friends werent in a fraternity. The ole paying for your friends argument. love that one....Those same 18 friends thus far that i have been in their weddings...man, money well spent i guess. How old are you by the way?
My 1st wife and I used to go to all home games 94-98. Since we were young and had no one to watch our son, he came with us from the time he was 1 till he was 5. We sat in the top corner on the student side (which was part of the greek section). We had only 1 incident with a guy who was saving seats and he was instantly screamed at by his frat buddy to leave us alone. We normally had good conversations with the people in front of us. Hell, they even "saved" us the row after a couple of games. During the Bama game (94 I think....we lost but it was close), the place was packed but everyone still gave us space because of my son. If any of you guys had anything to do with it.......Thanks! Anyways, I never had a problem with them......and after the half, we normally had a section to ourselves.
