What ifs: What if Lonnie Tinkle had landed Sumlin

instead of that steamy pile of horseshit called Croom

I have a feeling that the Bears record of being ahead of Alabama for 15 seconds is broken. I'm watching the game on a two or three minute delay, so it may already have been broken. Had to pause the receiver for a while.

But they have 2 losses so far

and will probably lose today. No matter how good a QB is, he needs to be on a near perfect team.

Johnny is the difference maker, but Sumlin has always out-schemed superior defenses.

Kingsbury is THE play caller. Don't forget that! Sumlin knew what get was doing when he got Kingsbury from UH. He has a great ability to communicate with his kids as well as reading defenses.

Johnny QB makes him a genius.

So did Case Keenum...

At some point when your 2nd or 3rd QB in a row is doing it, you just have to give the coach credit. Sumlin is either at or very near that point right now, IMO

My point exactly. Two great QBs with different styles. Change schemes to fit their strengths. Offense has good balance. When you put a Saban defense on its heels, you are doing something right.

Your right, Sumlin is a genius. There are a some fast running offenses in college football, but his takes the cake. I bet you will see a lot more teams try to copy this.

Fun fact regarding 2002 Texas Tech

Kingsbury is THE play caller. Don't forget that! Sumlin knew what get was doing when he got Kingsbury from UH. He has a great ability to communicate with his kids as well as reading defenses.

Kingsbury's tutors on the offensive staff were Mike Leach, Dana Holgerson, Art Briles, and Sonny Dykes. The Hal Mumme coaching tree is alive and well!
