After beating Auburn a week ago, there was a significant part of me thinking that the beauty of this season was that we could slip up a couple times and still end up with a great season. After all, how could anyone complain about an Orange Bowl bid?

I've changed my mind following the bye week, though. Opportunities for a championship run come around once in a blue moon for even the better teams, and as much as I'd like to believe that we've now got a program to keep this team at a high level for awhile, common sense tells me that most of us will be cold in our graves before MSU football ever encounters something like this again. All that is to say... let's just get it done this year and finish what we started.

I like Bill Bender's prediction the most. Being able to slap around two overrated teams in a row to win our first natty would be excellent. The worst possible thing would be a rematch against a west team, as they are the best teams out there besides us.

This. Told my wife that I don't care what it costs, that emergency fund and/or house down payment fund will be tapped if State advances to SEC, Semi-final, Final. We'll just buy a trailer and sell it once State makes another Omaha run.

What's the current payout for BCS bowls?

And the SEC dominating the current top 5 = rich get richer this year.

I would love to play ND but if we go to the Rose Bowl that means we were not the number seed.
