Good stuff.

This is the truth -
"9. I’m very concerned about the way we tackled Saturday night. Them running the ball like they did was surprising. They were getting yards after contact at an alarming rate. We will play Bammer and LSU differently than we played Tennessee, but even with loading on the box on those teams, we will still have to tackle. That is something to watch going forward."

There were tons of missed tackles and resultant UT yards after contact.

You said it. That play by Banks was a complete game changer. It may have won us the game. Enormous play. They had the momentum and were taking it to us. That changed it with the score behind it.

I really like seeing robinson coming into his. He was way less tentative. He always finishes runs but man he is getting more north and south quick. That boy loves contact, and he falls forward. Just keep that ball security big fella.

Patterson is unreal. That big, with all those moves. Geez. I am sort of ready to anoint him the best wr in the sec. I wish Morrow would fill out like that and be a weapon for us in the future.

As usual, good analysis. UT was completely sold out on the run on Prescott's TD pass. But I was really impressed with his pass down to the 1 in the 4th quarter. He showed a lot of poise and hit a difficult pass. I was very disappointed in the run defense. That's got to get a lot better quick or we're going to be hurting bad in some games. Everybody's talking about how the offense sputtered in the 3rd quarter, and it did. But a lot of the reason was the defense was giving up 6 minute drives.

1. I love the way we have protected the ball all year. Interceptions and fumbles have not been an issue.

2. Malone is coming along nicely. We don't miss Tobias in the passing game. However, Tobias makes a real difference in the run game. He gives us more push.

3. Bumphis has really stepped up this year. He has limited the drops.

4. I too appreciate Tyler's patience. He showed real maturity the last 3 years. Redshirting and then being #2 for 2 years is a great way to develop a QB. Unfortunately, too many don't want to wait their turn.

5. How about the OL? When Malone is in, we are playing 2 juniors, 2 sophomores, and 1 freshman. The future looks bright.

6. Watching Aaron Hernandez working the field as a tight end under Mullen at Florida always made me wish we had a guy who could be that kind of weapon. Malcolm Johnson will be that guy for us.

7. Mullen is still building for the long-term good of the program. Richie Brown and Beniquez Brown still redshirting. All of the OL redshirting.

Regarding #4, I think the reason he didn't play much is because we were trying to protect the ball. Not saying he is a fumbler, but he is a redshirt freshman and Perkins is a senior ( I think that is right) so Mullen probably wanted a senior carrying the ball that has proven he doesn't fumble much.

Our tackling was driving me nuts. How many times did we have contact at the LOS and still gave up a five yard run? Pucker factor in the third quarter wouldn't have been nearly as bad had special teams made the FG at the end of the half and not allowed a run back for TD.

Ok, wasn't sure, but a junior vs a redshirt freshman toting the rock in a close game, I think I go with the junior.

Buford, I agree on #4, but we have to give some credit to Mullen in that regard as well. I was thinking the same thing this morning about Tyler staying, and thought that Mullen must be doing a great job of getting these guys to understand and "buy in." Because it has to be hard to convince 18 year olds to be patient.

I chalk this up to this being our first game facing a good offense with big, quick, SEC-standard RB's. I just don't think we were ready for the size/skill of Rajon Neal and the others simply because we haven't seen that (really) yet this year. Someone posted before the game that they were worried because TN had been "hit" and we hadn't really to that point. I think we have now. That game will hopefully toughen up our defense a little for the brutes that will be running at us late in the year...

Agreed on that. We left points on the board in the first half. Should and could have scored at least 10 more and every time I watch that kick return I keep seeing so many missed opportunities to have tackled that son of a ***** before he broke free.

A few things I noticed

Positives-
1. Great QB play
2. Great punter
3. Defensive gameplan was there, we just missed some tackles

Negatives
1. During the game and even on the replay I noticed holes that Perkins didn't see. There were several backside gaps would blow open, hope we see those going forward. Sometimes the defense does a good job of reading plays, but if the OL gets a hat on everybody, there's typically a hole somewhere.

2. Kick off team, we need to pretty much pooch kick from here on out

3. The missed tackles as most people have already mentioned

Best atmosphere for me since Florida 2000.

what are your thoughts on Milton ?? - I know he has better size than J Robinson and I would have thought we would have seen more of him against a larger D-line .... this is nothing against Robinson - I think he runs pretty good and will be a great back for us

I think Milton is our 3rd best back and deserves mop-up duty. A 3 headed RB doesnt work, you dont get enough carries. Perkins and Robinson need to be the guys going forward

Throw Bumpus some love

Last two weeks he has stepped up when the game was on the line. He has become "our rat" on those third and long plays when we needed it. Seems like he and Russell have really developed a great chemistry.

I agree. Robinson looked good and 2 RBs is enough. And like you blogged, I was wanting me some more Robinson in the 3rd quarter.

They're not your typical RB duo (Perk seems a bit of a tweener, a scat back that has gotten stronger and developed a power game and Robinson a bit small but runs hard and finishes) but they are being effective.
