Prescott's 2 years at QB should be really productive as well. We really are seeing the Golden Era of QB's at State right now
No question Coach. I think we both watched him at Haughton some, and it was clear then the kid can play. He's got a huge arm. I'm sure he needs to work on his deep ball, but he can fit a throw in a window just as well as Russell. And, oh by the way, he can move.

As usual, very good analysis. Dak Prescott definitely lived up to your hype last night. Last night was the first time Mullen really opened up the offense for him and he looked real good both running and passing the ball. In fact, one thing that really impressed me was that I don't think a starter on either side of the ball took a snap the whole 4th quarter and neither the offense or the defense even missed a beat. Mullen is developing some depth on this team.
Agree on #6 - He is as strong or stronger than anyone else at the point of contact. He pushed his man into the backfield numerous times. I think he needs more reps. He is going to be a beast!
Good reference to Bobby Knight's speech. Never heard that before - a gem! I imagine Mullen did his best to live up to it at halftime. One thing is for sure, whatever he said worked!

To beat Bama we are going to have to control their running game
What do you think about running a 5-3-3 defense against them?
Have Autry, Quay, PJ Jones, Boyd, and Eulls on the line. Maybe rotate Nick James and Cherrington in at NT some. Have McKinney, Cam, and Skinner at LB, and then Whitley at S, and of course Banks and Slay at CB. Not sure that Bama would expect that, and I am willing to take a chance with our secondary since Banks and Slay are as good of a tandem as there is.
I also noticed that we blitzed MTSU's *** off all game long- and we got more sacks and totally shut thier offense down when compared to Troy and South Alabama.

Coach, you are wrong about one thing. There is no way that any of our coaches, especially Mullen will be going to church. The spirit says he cusses and abuses his players, so there is no way someone like that would go to church.

I think we would give up the edge too easily. Broomfield has done a solid job coming up for run support. I just think that would put way too much on our DE's. They would have to be responsible for contain as well as pressuring McCarron. With only Nickoe in over the top coverage and likely two linebackers in man coverage on passing plays, you can't give McCarron three seconds. Yes it will put a band aid on the big problem of Lacy getting six ypc in between the tackles, but it opens up another problem all together. And with their DL we don't have horses to get through a track meet
