1-1. US wins 4-3 in penalties. US scores an early goal in the first 25 minutes then hangs on for dear life with Mexico equalizing late.

Nice job on the celebration by Raul Jiminez. Diogo Jota was a Liverpool & Portugal national player killed in a car accident this week. He was a guy everyone liked & leaves behind a wife & 3 kids.

Thought it was a nice touch to honor Diogo Jota. Raul Jiminez, besides the normal shithousery, always seems like a good dude.
One of the rare Mexican players I’ve always liked. Also, he was a teammate of Jota at Wolverhampton. And it’s a miracle he’s still playing. He fractured his skull in a soccer match a few years ago.

No. We were playing with our B and C players. I think we will be like normal. Good chance to make it out of pool play.

Make it out of pool play in a ridiculous 48-team World Cup is a very low bar. We have to make the round of 16 for this not to be a disaster. My prediction is we lose in the round of 32.
