Because we've burned through our bullpen basically playing 4 games in 3 days and the guy we would bring in is playing in the outfield? Ideally you wanted to give Alvarado time between innings to get warmed up better. Didn't get to listen to the whole game and I'm not sure who all we had available. The bottom line is that Erstad knew he had Alvarado if it came to that.

Terps definitely have the inside track to the regular season title, with only a road series at Illinois and a home series with Northwestern left. But if Illinois could somehow take that series from them next weekend, the race could get interesting.
