Sunday Sales in Starkvile - FINAL UPDATE

The final decision hasn't been made, and Robbie Ward (the spearhead of the Sunday Sales) is encouraging everyone to POLITELY contact the ABC spokesman.

Call ABC spokesman Kathy Waterbury at 601-923-7401 and let her know Starkville deserves the same opportunity to serve alcohol seven-days a week as Grenada, Meridian, Hattiesburg, and the rest of the many cities in the state.

The state Tax Commission is still considering a Starkville's proposal to allow Sunday sales of alcohol in restaurants and clubs.

Commission spokeswoman Kathy Waterbury said today (Wednesday) that the commission made a preliminary decision Tuesday to deny Starkville's request. But the group reopened its discussion of the issue today (Wednesday) and left it unresolved.

The commission has not set a timetable to make the decision. It meets again in two weeks.

After all Robbie's misinformation today, I wouldn't trust his judgement. Don't make that call. Put it in writing. The commissioners have to consider the information and it is better they have it all in writing. Kathy doesn't get a say. Bound to be a link at the State Tax Commission's website to give a polite written comment.</p>
