My, my, look at the new Sunshine Pumpers. Not the Stansbury group any longer. Now the Ray group.

If the new Sunshine Pumpers would simply stop bragging about all the great hustle our team is showing, and stop the ridiculous posts about how much better everything is with Stansbury gone perhaps we could all get on the same page and move forward. The continual bad mouthing of Stansbury and bragging about how much better things are without admitting the obvious just keeps this thing going, and it is not good for Mississippo State.

There is obviously a great divide in the fan base. The whole thing was handled in a very amateur manner.

The guys that wanted a change won, and if history is any indicator the new Shunshine Pumpers will be the next generation of Ray haters. It is simply the way sports work!

This team with 6 scholarship players left is displaying winning traits that few Stansbury teams ever did. That's worth legitimate optimism.

There is no way to tell yet if RR is the man. But so far he has done everything that you can hope for.

Thats not sunshine pumping. That is reality.

It's not badmouthing Stansbury to recognize that this situation, excluding the injuries, is his fault. It was also Stansbury's fault that we had a pretty program ranging from decent to good for the decade before the train started running off the track. Just like it's not badmouthing the Kang to recognize that the program got away from him. It's bound to happen eventually, and any coach that avoids it for about a decade (as Stansbury and the Kang did) has done a hell of a job.

And recognizing that Ray walked into a ****** situation that was then made worse by injruies, there's not much to judge Rick Ray on other than do his players play hard and play up to their ability. That's the only thing within his control. So people can either give him credit for the players playing hard or they can ***** about stuff that's unrelated to the job he's doing, and why would they bother doing that?

this team has shown me nothing. Period. That does not mean I am down on Ray, but things have to go to another two levels before our program even seems undead.

None of us "won". In fact we've all been losing for about 5 years

All we can do is hope we made the right hire and that Ray gets things turned around. He deserves our support until he has a chance to do just that. That is all.

I think most people are just happy that we haven't had 2 players get into a fight on tv. Anybody who is not at least relieved that the normal dumpster fire is not burning just was not paying attention. Stans looked burned out. Stans used to have the team play great defense and we would lead the league in rebounding. He used to get great effort from the team but for whatever reason, it had been years since that was the case.

At least the anti-Stans crowd gave Stans over a decade of coaching before they began to voice criticism of him. And by that time he was slipping in his coaching ability, recruiting players that were toxic not only to the team but to MSU as a whole, not instilling discipline, having a team LOADED with talent and whiffing in the frikken NIT, etc. They had every right to be critical of Stans, he had been given over a decade, almost two. You folks haven't even given Rick Ray 10 games. Who are the sore butt little losers with an agenda here?

You mention a divide bt those that wanted change and those that didn't.

I assume you were on the side that was comfortable with the status quo. Before you post anything else related to college basketball, do me a favor and educate me on what it was that we had that we are now missing out on? What positives was I overlooking during the Stanbury golden age?

I`m just curious what the rest of the college BB world thinks about Stans. I was tired of his soap opera program but wonder how much of it was burn out at the end. Dude can recruit like a mother but is a marginal gameday coach at best. I don`t think he`ll land another "big" job but we`ll see.
