I suspect a lot of people were "outraged" because they were told they were expected to be outraged. It was pretty much on par with prior Super Bowl halftimes. As I've said before, I like Latin music in general but I couldn't understand a word he said. I didn't get offended by it.
I made a joke with my friends that I wonder how many people would be mad if Pearl Jam was the halftime show because I have understood about 6 words Eddie Vedder has sung.

It was actually a good show if you got past not understanding the lyrics. And just let me know how gay you are if you didn't enjoy those latinas dancing.

It was actually more low key than Lady Gaga or Katy Perry. It had a positive message of Love over Hate which any Christian should appreciate.

Fact:

When the main act defiantly tells Americans they have four months to learn Spanish and later claims he will also perform in a dress as a sign of solidarity with the Alphabet Club, that act isn’t trying to be a unifying act. This goes against one of the tenets of what the NFL preaches vis-à-vis “love wins” and other third grade level mantras. Obviously, BB just needed attention or a hug from his father since he walked back his claims and decided to throw in some English phrases.
Exactly. There was never meant to be anything unifying about it. It's all about eroding US values and traditions and replacing it with foreign filth, a hatred of the country and it's traditions and tribal warfare....all disguised as "aw shoot let's just all love each other." (Or you're a racist, bigot, xenophobic MAGA Nazi fascist). Bad Buddy wouldn't piss on any of these white savior immigrant boot lickers from the US if they were on fire. Damn assimilating to United States values and traditions, you assimilate TO US! We're coming in, taking over and you do what WE say, OTHERWISE you're a racist, bigot, xenophobic MAGA Nazi fascist!

.....that's gonna make some heads blow.

1. The clips I have seen since Sunday seem to indicate that it wasn't a "Christian" show. They had gay men humping and the usual light debauchery, not to mention it was very much more a political statement than it was about anything having to do with Christianity. The league and the singer knew it and purposefully made political statements. I don't have a problem with that - they can do that all they want, but you can't then expect everyone to agree with your political statement. Basically half the country or more does not agree with it, and I think the NFL knew that going in and is fine with that because they are trying to recruit the ones that do to be new NFL fans or whatever.

2. "Love over Hate" sounds good and very spiritual and new-agey, but it's not necessarily a Christian tenet. I mean, we are supposed to love God, treat others with patience and kindness, and love good and Godly things. But it's also right and just to not support (and even dislike and speak out against) some things. One could say it's okay to "hate" evil. So the saying "Love over Hate" is very generic and nebulous. Depends on what you're "loving" and "hating". Sorry for all the quotations.

I wasn't saying it was a "Christian" show but Love over Hate is pretty much Jesus's primary teaching.

Honestly the show itself wasn't any more debauchery than normal. And of course less since Timberlake whipped out Janet Jackson's tit.

I understand if people weren't interested in watching it but the pure hatred is surprising. There are only a handful of country acts that I would watch but I wouldn't be so angry to even say anything. I would probably just flip it to the puppy bowl and no one would even know.

What? You dont' want our most decorated player ever to get another Superbowl ring over politics.
I stopped watching pro sports over a decade ago other than a few random minutes here and there. Last halftime show I intentionally watched was Prince and I have the ability to watch or not watch anything on TV. Politics has been injected into damn near everything because life is apparently so good in our country that people have to look for crap to be upset or offended by on a daily basis. Bad Bunny is crap music in my opinion and apparently Nikki Manij towel dried her WAP or was that Cardi B?? I like old Kid Rock but regardless...
mad gran torino GIF
I tried to watch BAD Bunny and could not. Not my cup of tea, but He is has been the world's number one artist several years now.

I don't get it but the hate for the guy just smells of a scared little boy being afraid of a Spanish speaking singer at a halftime show meaning something significant. It's just music, who the freak cares, I never watched the halftime as most either suck or were a has been. If they end up being good like Chris Stapleton's Star Spangled Banner then I get it on YOU TUBE on demand.

Got to admit it would probably be one heck of an alternate show given how the majority of them lean one way.

Less real football fans, and more idiots who care about such things as halftime shows
I remember when halftime was for taking a p!ss, loading up another plate, grabbing a beer and talking about the game so far. The SB should always be about the game but it gets hijacked these days by commercials and performers. I understand all the reasons which are not all bad but still don't really care....it's always been ancillary to me.

For me I just think they should go back to traditional American artists like The Rolling Stones, or contemporary Christian performers like Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, no sexual innuendo masculine acts like Prince and Michael Jackson, or good wholesome family-friendly tit flashing at the least!
