Seems odd to not ask for the help citizens being that everyone wants these guys caught. I would also love to hear the motive for this one. Puzzling to say the least

and seems a little outta the norm for US Marshalls Task Force to be in on the arrest...unless of course they were hunting for this pos already for other warrants/charges or he is parole violator. Sounds like it might not be the perp's first rodeo.

Here's a zero-credibility post from reddit:

Okay, here is the jist of
what happened. These two dude who I know and live in the same hall
(Evans Hall), wanted Xanax for personal use and to deal. They had three
guys come up from Jackson, MS. From what I understand, it was a good bit
of Xanax (at least $1000 worth). Around 10 pm, the three black males
from Jackson entered a dorm room on the First Floor along with the two
boys who called them up to Starkville along with the two students who
occupied that room (a black boy and a white) The deal goes down and the
three Jackson people leave only to come back seconds later with a 45mm
with a silencer. The white boy, John, was shot 6 times in the chest. The
victim wasn't even apart of the deal and was simply in the room The
three males from Jackson fled out the door while two of the boys broke
the window and jumped out. The victim stumbled to the stairs and
collapsed while another student dialed 911. I was at a friends while
this happened, but it happened right under my room. We are friendly
people at Mississippi State. This is the first time a student has been
shot on our campus. Those %%*$% better be caught. I know that they have
their names, but all we can do is wait till they find them. I've always
felt safe on this campus, but when weirdos dealing drugs come here, it's
a bad mix. I also heard that the suspect who shot and killed him was
under the influence of a high dose of Xanax. Any other questions, feel

Along with the car they were looking for.... I'm confused here. Why was the gun all the way on sorority row when the shooting happened across campus at evans. Also, I thought the car was driven back to Jackson.

I heard Caleb Reeds dad found the gun while jogging Sunday morning. Supposedly he found it on the banks of the pond by the Bryan Building.
