Congratulations to Murphy and Robbinsville for first and second place this season. I feel once we lost to Murphy our boys thought they would just go through the motions and beat Robbinsville. U can’t do that in the SMC! If you do then you will get a beat down. Not sure how much their hearts or minds were in this game. Something was definitely off tonight.

Yeah somethingwas off.
Your offense, because of our DEFENSE. Other than 1 drive our D dominated.

If Swain got beat by 7 or 14 you might could say Swain was off but not 29 points. Robbinsville could very easy have been Champ. We are young and got better each game. I say we are the favorites next year.

#20 for Robbinsville may be the most dominating 7th grader to ever come through the SMC.
I have watched him 3 times now and he could be a good one. His yards after contact is impressive and he keeps getting stronger as the game goes on.

No. The fact that Swain lost by 29 proved it. When it was 14-6 I witnessed several players just give up. Hands on hips and heads down. No energy. When I was watching I wondered how Murphy beat Robbinsville. I think Robbinsville was the best team we played this season. But our play could have been a major factor in that assessment. What grade is 20 for Robbinsville? How many 9th graders? There is a very good chance that Robbinsville will beat Murphy next season. Don’t look for much from swain the next few seasons on JV. I think we are going to have a significant drop off on JV the next few seasons. On a positive note our varsity will be loaded the next three seasons!

20 is 7th grade. Football is his second sport.

We outscored Murphy 22-0 in the second half.
We only have a few freshmen. Our best freshmen lineman starts on varsity.

I think both of you hit on something, I think swain quit after they realized the Knights had come to play. Not criticizing the coaches but swain didn’t seem prepared at all. Didn’t know where to line up, couldn’t get the right number on the field after a change of possession and lots of penalties. Not your typical swain team. Two good teams, these two and the dogs will field some good teams in the next few years. Got to shout out to a swain player, I think his name was Loyd Teetuskie ( spelling?) he is a player can’t block him and he makes every tackle. Good game young man.

BD, I mean Magnum. SMC doesnt have middle school football. Youth league ends at 7th grade, a lot of 7th graders play youth league some play JV.

Lloyd Teesateeskie is a good kid and a very stout defensive tackle/nose guard. He will be moving up today to varsity. Probably won’t play tonight but will next week vs Robbinsville. He is very strong and hard to block. He will help out a lot on our defensive front on varsity.

I wonder if he would move again because of wrestling? Robbinsville has a great 1A wrestling program but he wont face the kind of competition he needs to face week in week out to stay at an elite level nationally. Murphy had a kid not that long ago who was competing and winning at a national level in wrestling in middle school but leveled off in high school relative to those elite national level kids, mainly because they were wrestling in states like Iowa, Minnesota, Pennslyvania, Ohio where wrestling is huge and going up against elite level wrestlers every week. The kid Im talking about still won two state titles in wrestling in high school and was the 1A wrestler of year his senior year, but still have to wonder how good he might have been in a wrestling state.
