MY PICKS
(7-1 Last Week, 55-16 on the season)
(14)MIDWAY 7-2 4-1 @ GOLDSBORO 1-8 1-4

The Cougars comes in after claiming their first win of the season last week over Spring Creek 48-8. The Raiders are coming off a bye week, and will be looking to finish the regular season strong, and will be hoping for Wallace Rose Hill to pull off the upset over James Kenan so that they can get a share of the conference title. The Raiders know that they'll finish no worse than 2nd in the conference, and have a first round bye next week as the playoffs begin. I expect the Cougars to put up one last fight in front of their home crowd, and try to make this one ugly for the Raiders. The Raiders will have to play every minute of this one because the Cougars aren't going to be put away easily. M 41 G 24

ROSEWOOD 2-7 2-3 @ PRINCETON 5-4 2-3
Two teams that are no strangers to each other, they play each other every season. The Bulldogs has won six straight in this series, with the Eagles last win in this rrivalry was way back in 2019. Both teams are coming off of blowout losses, the Eagles failed to score in their loss to Wallace Rose Hill, and the Bulldogs couldn't keep James Kenan's offense out of the end zone. Look for this to be a very competitive game with the Bulldogs coming out on top. R 34 P 56

GAME OF THE WEEK
(21)WALLACE ROSE HILL BULLDOGS 5-4 4-1 @ (3)JAMES KENAN TIGERS πŸ… 8-1 5-0

Halloween night in Warsaw doesn't get any bigger than this, the Wallace Rose Hill Bulldogs verses my James Kenan Tigers πŸ… with the conference championship on the line. My Tigers πŸ… will be trying to win their first outright conference championship since 2014. We thought that we had the conference crown wrapped up last season, but the Bulldogs spoiled the fun with a 17-14 upset in the season finale at the Dog πŸ• Pound. The two teams met a few weeks later in the playoffs, a night after Thanksgiving in an overtime defensive thriller, with my Tigers πŸ… putting an end to the Bulldogs season 14-13. So my Tigers πŸ… still hasn't won a regular season match up against these Bulldogs since 2015. The Bulldogs will be trying to spoil a conference championship celebration 🍾, and force a three way tie at the top with Midway. My Tigers πŸ… won't fall for the banana in the tail pipe again, we're not going to let the Bulldogs 5-4 record fool us. We know that this is a very good Bulldogs team that could easily be 8-1 just like us. Three of the four games that the Bulldogs has lost has been by a touchdown or less, so we know that this Wallace Rose Hill team is dangerous and are capable of pulling off the upset. But this Tiger πŸ… team is focused, and it showed in last week win over Princeton 49-14. The defense played lights out, while the offensive execution was perfection. The Bulldogs had no problem downing Rosewood 58-0. I look for the Bulldogs to come out of the gate strong πŸ’ͺ, but will soon realize that this Tigers πŸ… team speed is out of this world. There will be no trick or treating in the Jungle for the Bulldogs on Friday night, as my Tigers will celebrate our first outright conference title in 11 years. WRH 7 JK 28

OTHER GAMES OF INTEREST
WAKE PREP ACADEMY 5-3 3-1 @ (20)LOUISBURG 8-1 3-1

The Warriors suffered their first defeat of the season last week against Bunn 34-19. With the conference crown out of their control they will now turn their focus to beating the Guardians, and trying to secure a first round bye next week in the playoffs. The Guardians has won five of their last six games, including a 29-21 win over Nash Central last week. This should be a good one, with the winner claiming second place in the Quad County 2A/3A/4A conference. I look for the Warriors to shake off last week's loss and find a way to win a close game. (1)TARBORO 9-0 4-0 @ (15)KINSTON 6-3 3-1
The Vikings has been rolling right a long this season, and hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. They passed their Ayden-Grifton exam with flying colors last week, dismissing them 41-0. Now here comes the Vikings from Kinston, who seems to have picked up some steam, especially on offense. Their offense has put up over 50 points in their last two outings, including a 61-8 win last week over Beddingfield. This is what we all were expecting from Kinston all season, and they may have found their groove at the right time. This should be a great test for Tarboro defense heading into the playoffs, and it'll be interesting to see how well they'll do. Now concerning Kinston defense trying to stop Tarboro's offense, it's not going to happen. Nobody has been able to slow Tarboro down all season, and I look for them to continue to roll in this one. T 49 K 7

(11)AYDEN-GRIFTON 6-3 3-1 @ (16)FARMVILLE CENTRAL 4-5 2-2
The Chargers from Ayden-Grifton will be trying to put last week's loss to Tarboro behind them and turn their focus on a Jaguars team that found the winning column for the second time last week in their last six games. The Jaguars defeated Greene Central 29-23. For the Chargers, they'll be looking for a second place finish in the conference, and playoff positioning is on the line for both teams. Will the Chargers be able to regroup, and refocus and put away this Jaguars team that can be dangerous, if they could find the success that they had in their win over D.H Conley. AG 42 FC 21

(9)NORTHEASTERN 7-2 3-1 @ (23)PASQUOTANK COUNTY 6-3 1-3
The Eagles went on the road last week and defeated a red hot Martin County quad, that had been on a roll, and running through the conference. The Eagles has won three straight and can finish with a share of the conference title, but they'll be facing a Panthers team that showed everyone that this Panthers squad can play with anyone, in their heartbreaking defeat at the hands of Currituck County by one point last week. Two of the Panthers three losses has been by one point this season. The Panthers has lost 28 of their last 29 to the Eagles, with their last win in this rivalry coming way back in 2007. If the Panthers are going to put an end to their losing streak against the Eagles, this is the team that can get the job done. Look for the Panthers to almost bring it to pass, but they'll suffer another heartbreaking loss by one point. N 28 PC 27

(18)NORTH DUPLIN 8-1 4-1 @ (17)HOBBTON 6-3 5-0
The Wildcats are in position to win the conference championship for the first time in over a decade, and the Rebels from North Duplin will be trying to spoil the party. This should be a good one, because both teams are on a roll. The Rebels has won four straight, with their only lost was by less than a touchdown, on the road against Lakewood. A Lakewood team that the Wildcats defeated Friday night 20-7. Both teams will be trying to force their will with their rushing attack, and both defenses should be up for the challenge. I give the edge to the Rebels defense, and we all know that defense wins championships. ND 17 H 14

(4)WEST CRAVEN 8-1 5-0 @ (15)EASTERN WAYNE 6-2 4-1
The Warriors from Eastern Wayne will be hunting for a share of the Three Rivers 4A conference crown, and the Eagles are looking to be the lone conference champions. Both of these teams were dominant in their wins last week, the Warriors put a running clock ⏰️ on Washington 49-6, while the Eagles fought off Southwest Edgecombe 44-19. I think both of these teams are pretty much even. Both has quarterbacks that can do it with their arms or legs. So it comes down to which defense can make enough stops to secure the win. I'm going with the Eagles in a close one. WC 24 EW 21

Midway will take care of Goldsboro quickly
Princeton vs Rosewood will be a good game I believe but Princeton has the edge
JK vs Wallace will be a thriller I think.... the game tends to always be close no matter the teams records mainly because of good ole pride and passion I believe. I have to take the Tigers though they are just more put together.

Rosewood at princeton. Rswd is young but improving but princeton should win this one going away. If the bulldog defense play like the past games. Could be a shootout. Whr vs j kenan. The tigers have a good passing attack if the run is shut down. Jk. 38 whr 13
