Sword is using the summer to work on a potential move back to point guard. The junior played the point as a freshman. He finished with a team-high 127 turnovers – 57 more than any of his teammates.
He cut down on the bad decisions when he switched to shooting guard as a sophomore, committing 96. He plans to bring that mental maturity and better ball handling into his third season.
A move back to point guard would also improve his draft stock.
“If he can become a guy that can make shot and a guy that can prove that he’s a point guard at that level, he’s probably the most athletic attack guy in the SEC,” Ray said. “I really believe that.”
