Sword is using the summer to work on a potential move back to point guard. The junior played the point as a freshman. He finished with a team-high 127 turnovers – 57 more than any of his teammates.

He cut down on the bad decisions when he switched to shooting guard as a sophomore, committing 96. He plans to bring that mental maturity and better ball handling into his third season.

A move back to point guard would also improve his draft stock.

“If he can become a guy that can make shot and a guy that can prove that he’s a point guard at that level, he’s probably the most athletic attack guy in the SEC,” Ray said. “I really believe that.”

Really his only shot in the NBA is at PG, now almost every shooting guard is 6-6. Him at 6-3 means he couldn't guard 1/2 the league at SG. The league has gotten a lot bigger the last 5 years.

Pure speed and athletic ability. I just hope no one runs a good trap.

I bet Bloodman starts. Sword isn't moving there full time.

Ready should start at PG next year. Not really happy about this

Just listened to Sword's interview and I guess he is going to try to play some PG again. He has good size for that position and he's certainly a lot stronger than IJ so if he can limit his turnovers and improve his shot then it could be a positive for us.

He has the perfect size for the Grizz to draft him. They love drafting short 2's and then trading/releasing them.

I'm 99 percent sure he isn't going to start at point guard. Depending on match ups, we may use him at the point but he will still be predominantly our 2 guard.

Unfortunately...

Sword, based on his current portfolio, would not be drafted if there were 3 rounds of the NBA draft.

He is undersized which means he would need to do "something" exceptionally well - which he does not at this point.

If Jamont Gordon was not drafted there is no way Sword gets a look. I see Sword as a poor mans version of Derrick Zimmerman. Both athletic and neither could shoot. I think Zimmerman may beat him in a game of h-o-r-s-e.

We have alot of poor man versions on this team compared to teams of old such as Roquez Johnson < Charles Rhodes. This is why we are getting poor man results.

Zimmerman was selected 40th overall in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors, and played two games with the NBA's New Jersey Nets during the 2005-06 season.
