Yep, this is definitely an "astroturfed" news storyImma be honest. I think it's actually manufactured outrage to distract from other things. Have plenty of friends in my circles on both sides. The only ones I've heard about Sweeney from are the ones on the right. Saw the ads. Clearly someone either didn't think how it could be misinterpreted at its worst, or more likely, didn't care and was only focused on "sex sells".
But apparently it's been getting a ton of wall to wall coverage on conservative Entertainment channels like Fox News and even the white house commented about it. Now why are they even commenting about who I can only imagine are the basement dwelling terminally online leftists and their opinions. Real world sane leftists are just like me: "hell yea - titties."
We'd be better off if we could eliminate the platforming of the gas station crackheads (both sides) and then making huge news stories about them. Imagine the Reflector having its front page news story being that Jim the three toothed crackhead out in front of the Shell on mlk blvd thinks that BoC's hire was another form of Maga suppressing opportunities of minorities. That's basically what making news stories out of twitter losers crying is equivalent to.
Sorry to golf - back to titties.
I can't name a single person in real life that I know, nor anyone I follow on social media, nor a member of Congress or a well-known pundit or celebrity, who was offended by the ad. Republicans desperately need a distraction right now and cooked this up.
I question whether Sweeney was the right choice for this move though, since as a liberal Harris voter, I doubt she's really going to play the victim and fan the flames herself, at least not to the extent that she probably could.
