Tabb kicks a field goal to win with 3 seconds left. From the Poquoson perspective this was an absolute embarrassment! Three passes right on the numbers dropped, two muffed punts for turnovers, horrid play calling, a fumble within the Tabb 10 yardline, and penalties up the ying yang with an officiating crew just itching to litter the field with laundry. Disgusting performance!

My apologies Islandersfan. I didn't see your post before I started the other thread. Islandersfan, what did I tell you was critical to put the game away? Score TD's when inside the Tabb redzone and not turnover which would basically put them away and they would have believed they were finished if down 14 or even 21-0 zip early in the game. We did exactly the opposite. The fumble inside the ten late in the first quarter with a chance to go up 14-0 absolutely handed, begged, pleaded for Tabb to take the momentum and make it a game. In a rivalry game, you simply can't turn the ball over early. We all know that Tabb was playing their Superbowl. They were going to get the breaks, maybe get some calls at Bailey Field, and that we wouldn't play anywhere close to our potential. We knew that would happen. The way you overcome that is exactly why and what I wrote about. Put them AWAY early and that we would have that chance. Well, we had that chance and the only way we don't put them away is by.....not scoring inside their ten early in the game and turning the ball over with a chance to go up 14-0 and pretty much/very likely putting the game away in the first 12 minutes. Again, we did opposite. All the credit to Tabb. When you refuse to put a rival team away, you get into a situation late in the fourth quarter where anything can happen. You give chance "a chance." That's what happened.

Within a 3 minute span at the end of 1st quarter and early into the 2nd quarter. We are up 7-0, fumble inside their ten with a chance to go up 14-0. We hold Tabb and force them to punt and we fumble the run back and they recover and have first down! We would have had the ball at their 38-39 yardlineish. From that point, I told my wife. We are in trouble and this game will be decided in the last minute with us having a chance to likely lose. Tabb on that possession went right down the field and tied it. What suddenly looked like a 21-0 game was now 7-7 in the mid second. Credit Tabb. No excuses here.

Can't blame play calling when you drop wide open on target passes and turn the ball over that many times. Shhhhhhh, sometimes it is the kids fault but don't tell anyone I said that.

Just realized Poquoson has a huge game at Smithfield on Friday...we'll see what the Islanders are made of soon enough.

No worries there. Poquoson will pound the rock on that inside trap and run wild. Warhill missed the W last week because they quit running that play. And IF the SHS coaching staff has made the necessary adjustment to recognize and successfully defend it...I still believe the Bull Islanders pull away late in this game for the W. Probably a 20 pt win. Warhill got behind early with 3 unforced turnovers. Poquoson doesn't do that.

Tabb has ALWAYS been y'alls Achilles Heel....throw out the records when you two get together.

True, anything can happen in a rivalry game, but I didn't see them losing to Tabb. Poquoson has enough senior leadership and experience to avoid a letdown like that...they've really put pressure on themselves to try and stay home for the playoffs...no margin for error now. We'll see how they respond to pressure/adversity, as I see Friday's game being a tight one....
