A lot of people don't understand the hype around Mettenberger, but people forget how highly rated he was coming out of high school and how tough that battle between him and Murray was when they were both true freshmen. Then he went JUCO, and nowhe's a legit SEC QB and he's going to show it this year at LSU.
On another note, I'm not sold on Frazier. Iwatched almost every Auburn game last year and he looked completely lost throwing the football. I understand he was young, but every young QB has moments when they lock in and throw a few good ones. I don't remember one good pass he threw. I think he will have a rough year, but his ability to run the football will getAuburn out of some tough jams.
I look for Russell to have a solid season, and I think he has the opportunity to break the MSU single season passing records. Good group of WRs,decent OL, and a defense that I think will create some turnovers to get our offensethe ball a little more. I look for him toput up some very solid numbers.
