THIS. Bet against MSU, that way you're you get something

either way. If you lose, you get money. If you win, you don't care about the money, you got the W. And if you win by 2, you get both.

I'm basing it on our recent history against them and how oddly familiar this year seems like last year.

Recent history would suggest this game is a toss up. Not that Auburn is 10 pts better

Just be sure...

That you don't bet based on emotion, which apparently everyone on this message board endorses. Don't bet against so that you "win something". What weird advice. Likewise, there's no reason to never bet for or against Mississippi State. I don't understand this mentality, especially considering that MSU has been fairly predictable during Dan's tenure relative to other teams. Even if there highly variable, you should on average win half your bets.

I won't be betting on MSU. I don't see much to convince me we can win by 3+.

What is the same between this year and last year?

Both teams have new starting QBs. Auburn has two brand new coordinators and both teams displaying a different offense than the one they used last year. We are playing in Starkville instead of in Auburn. Auburn isn't coming off a national championship like they were last year. Auburn is coming off of a loss this year when they came off of a win last year. I could keep going, but I think you get my point. Saying this year is very similar to last year makes zero sense. The game may play out similar to last year, but saying the circumstances surrounding this game are the same as last year just doesn't make any sense.

What concerns me is that yes they are coming off a loss this year versus a win last year but Auburn looked a heck of a lot better against Clemson a couple of days ago in a loss than they did against Utah State in a win a year ago. Auburn's defense looked significantly better to me than last year and a lot of what Clemson got on offense was strictly off the athletic ability of Boyd and Ellington. I really don't see us scoring more than about 20 points in this game this Saturday so our defense better play their A game if we are going to win.
