C Relf is the man under center until he does something stupid in his personal life. Keeping his personal life together while he continues to improve his field play could result in a NFL shot. The key will be if he can learn to recognize and adjust to defenses. He has a cannon of an arm but obviously needs to be more accurate with it. Our O line will be really good next year which will lead to development of both QB's. We have a talented freshman RB in Connor; Ballard is also good. Probably it will be running back by committee. Bumphis will be the really special one once the staff utilizes him in other ways. Kicking game will be solid. Attacking style of the D will pay big dividends and give up some plays at the same time.A winning season is very much in the picture....maybe 7-5 or 8-4 with a break or two. Opposing defenses will not allow Relf to just run the ball; they will force him to pass so he must become effective doing it. I think that is why we didn't see much option stuff yesterday....that along with coaches not wanting the QB's to be hit. We are working on what needs to be worked on...improving the passing effectiveness of our QB's. Makes total sense. This team will be much improved over last season and it has a favorable schedule. This coaching staff is light years ahead of anything we have had at MSU in a very long time. One area of improvement that would be awesome would be additional quality second team offensive linemen that could challenge our first teamers. Hopefully, that will be a goal of upcoming recruitment efforts.
