I know I personally couldn't "scrape together" 50k to hedge the bet but I'd like to be in his position to try and see how much i could scrape together.

You can bet that my *** would have found the means to come up with it though. Hell, if I was a banker in Delaware and was familiar with this particular parlay bet, I'd loan out the money to whoever found themselves in that situation. My mortgage, car....whatever would all be put on the line to guarantee I'd be 50K richer come next Monday.
