It comes down to you, it's your choice for the last scholarship slot. You have lot's of spare cash sitting around too. There are two young men in contention for the last scholarship. Number one is four star rated on one site and five star rated on another. He's been waffling around all recruiting season. Hot for whichever school he last visited and has taken five visits. Grades are enough to qualify. You know his parents and they let you know that for $30K their son will sign with your school. Number two is three star rated on two sites. Likes your school and is on the honor roll. You know him and his parents and know that neither he nor his parents have ever asked for anything and worked for what they have. It's the night before signing day and it's your choice. Who gets the last scholly to your school and plays for your team? Number One OR Number Two? No need for rationalizations, just One or Two.

I guess I need lots of heppin' myself, so if I find 30K laying around unused, it's going to be used on a lot of other stuff before a high school kid's family. My own kids need college funding, I could bank more retirement, home maintenance, tires, pay my ever-increasing health insurance, a vacation for the missus, etc.... The list goes on.

Maybe I have a hard time understanding the proposal because I don't know what it's like to have "lots of spare cash" laying around unused. For ***** and giggles, someone please describe to me what that feels like.

Welcome to MSU Mr. Three Star. Glad to have you aboard.
