Tampa was down by one score...

Coughlin is a ***** for complaining.

I can kind of see both sides... Part of me wants to say it's playing until the final whistle and that if you don't want that to happen, take your chances with a shotgun snap and down it before anybody can reach you.

BUT, more of me wonders what exactly you can accomplish by doing that? I mean, even if you pull his legs out from under him, what's the best case scenario there? He falls down on his back? Same result as a kneel but with an added chance for injury. Just seems a little on the cheap side to me.

uh best case scenario is that there is a fumbled exchange and you recover it and have a chance for a last play or 2 (or get really lucky and scoop it for a fumble return)

It is trying to win until the game is over. I get pissed when people just run the ball if it is just a min left in the game down 2 TDs. The object is to win the game, turnovers and onside kicks are still a part of the game no matter how much time is left.

My point is, you've got the guy's legs. It's not like you're making contact with the ball or even the arm that's holding the ball... if he falls down and then the ball comes out...well guess what? He's down. Now if you're trying to time it so that you maybe hit the ball or his hand and disrupt the exchange, that's one thing... but they grabbed his ankles. Again, as I said, I can see both sides. I suppose there's a chance he's caught off guard and fumbles... "Holy ****, this guy grabbed my ankle...oh WTF? What did I do with the ball?"

It's bit bush league but I can understand why they would try to do something given where the ball was on the field. The Giants had the ball inside the 30. With a fumbled exchanged, a score wouldn't have been out of the question. The odds were long, but strange things have happened before.

I don't think you judge much by Coughlin bitching. Old Men will chew someone's *** if the Early Bird Special doesn't start exactly at 4. I think it's a bit of a cheap shot, but I can understand why they did it given the position on the field. If the Giants would have been on the other 20, it would be a different situation.

have you never seen a fumbled snap? do you think a snap is more likely to be fumbled if the center has a defense over his head putting pressure on him or with the D just standing up right letting him snap with no pressure?

Nothing wrong with it. Nothing wrong when Georgia almost forced a fumble on us back in 2010. Always play to win the game.
