What’s up with so many people having tattoos these days? I assume it’s the influx of Yankee trash moving to SC. In the recent past it was only serious rednecks and convicts that had tattoos around here. Not sure how things have been in Iowa on the tattoo front. Scared to know what the Florida guys will say.

One recent trend in the 21st century has been professional
athletes now have tattoos. At one time that was taboo, but
now it has become a means of self-expression for everyone
to see. The same goes for beards and long hair.

Can you imagine New York Yankee legends Babe Ruth, Lou
Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio or Mickey Mantle with tattoos?

first of all, I really don't see the value, but hey, to each their own....

But, lots of complaints on here about affordability, people can't afford to eat...and so on, and yep, everyone is entitled to make their own decisions on where to spend their money. But the other side of that equation is that money spent to get a tattoo is money no longer available for the food. From what Google tells me a 'sleeve" can cost up to $2,500....but, like I said, to each their own.

I used to think this way. 25 years ago.

Are you full Scandinavian? Any Scottish in there?
Danish. My great grandfather emigrated from Denmark November 1914 hoping to enlist in the American army to fight the Krauts since WWI had broken out that summer. Unfortunately, he was not permitted to enlist because of his citizenship status.

His little brother, however, got the opportunity to serve and fight the Krauts 30 years later. In fact, his last combat mission just so happened to take place 82 years ago today—on a beach in Normandy, France.

He survived, but never regained full use of one of his arms that got shot up. Two of my tattoos honor them and my first cousin, who not too long ago retired Delta Force.

Are you going to call them deviant and encourage them not to do it?

Do you think this is on the same level? I definitely encourage people not to get a tattoo. There aren’t really any positives but potential negatives. Could limit job opportunities, etc. Some Country Clubs want allow admittance. Things like that.
So you want to demand they be miserable and tattoo-less their whole lives so you'll feel comfortable? Does your good book tell you it's a sin?
