Might be $9M for 3 years. That would make more sense.
If $9M/year, then Alabama will have to come up with a big raise for Saban and Texas for Mack Brown ... and I doubt they'd do that given his record lately. Apparently Saban has to be the highest paid coach in CFB. They put him above Mack Brown a year or two ago.

i might believe 9 mill over 4 yrs but not 9 mill/year. first tressels not that good. second if they pay that kind of money they might get saban. even tn isn't that crazy.
except that Jim Tressell has a show cause clause in his NCAA ban....much like Bruce Pearl has.

Mack Brown makes more than Saban. Actually, looking at another source, it looks like Saban's total pay may be a bit higher, but I think Brown has a higher salary. Either way, they're both making around $5-6M. TN isn't going to pay double that amount.
