compared to other SEC teams, yes it is a joke. LSU, at Bama, South Carolina, at Arkansas are all losses for them. I don't know anything about Cincinatti this year, but they may lose to them as well. i just don't think Dooley has what it takes - definitely won't be able to overcome the hammer that may come down on them. i'd love for MTSU to upset them. i hate tennessee.

especially when you are in the SEC, might as well have a few cupcakes sprinkled in. Also sucks for them that their 3 West opponents are LSU, @ Bama (rival of course), and @ Arkansas. And hell I wonder when they scheduled Cincinnati. Obviously Cincy struggled last year, but they just went to a BCS game a couple years ago. Look at our nonconference with Memphis, UAB, La Tech, and UT Martin.

Them playing people like Oregon doesn't do them much good right now. Once they recover, they can start to schedule bigger name people such as Florida State or whoever.

It's not really any different than us.

for Buffalo. I get they're rebuilding and they're looking for wins, but it still seems weak. Granted, ours isn't much better.

Montana
Buffalo
Vandy
UK
Mid Tenn
Cincy
UGA
UF

That's 8 pretty soft games. I get there isn't a great deal they can do about it, but still.

of playing their "rivals" UK and Vandy last every year- they're almost always guaranteed momentum and wins at the end of the year no matter what.

I wouldn't want to play UNC again after that ******** in the bowl game last year. That still burns me to this day. That game ended up being the make or brake game in my bowl pool with the local folk.

I'd keep that schedule as creamy and puffy as I could for as long as I could if I'm an AD wearing orange and white.

SEC schedules are tough. Anytime you schedule Florida, UGA, and SC every year, you deserve to schedule lightly OOC. Except that Cincinatti is not a cupcake by any means...

A better question to ask is when did they schedule Cincinnati? Was it during their hey-day of 2008-2009?

Cincinnati is a better opponent than any OOC team you have scheduled for the forseeable future.

That's just smart scheduling. The goal of OOC play should be to go 4-0 regardless of what you have to schedule to get there.

I disagree. In fact, I'd say that's a tougher OOC schedule than ours:

Montana (FCS) > UT-Martin (FCS)
Cincinnati > La. Tech
Buffalo < UAB
MTSU = Memphis

who is saying all the right things from a motivational/go get 'em! standpoint. Whether this will translate to more wins is anybody's guess. The team was injury-riddled and incredibly inconsistent; getting blown out by N.C. State one week, then taking Oklahoma down to the wire a few weeks later. For each last-minute comeback they had in 2009, they couldn't finish the close games in 2010, because they couldn't tackle anyone. Or make clutch receptions.<div>I don't see them getting a "W" in Knoxville next year, either.</div><div>And at least the Vols scheduled a consistent I-AA contender.</div>
