TE's seem to go away in games against our lesser opponents

Does our coaching staff decide to hide the TE packages in games against our lesser opponents. This is why I think we play very basic against these teams as opposed to auburn and tennessee. brandon hill was the only tight end with a catch last night and I believe that catch came from dak. I expect the tight ends to be used heavily next week though against bama.

I'm convinced we play completely different in SEC games vs Non-SEC games. Sherrill would do the exact same back in the day. I feel certain there are wrinkles we have still not shown yet.

Mullen is smart. He's holding stuff back, but he showed most of the cards against Tennessee because we needed it. I'm sure we'll break something out against Bama. It seems obvious that Dan tries to hide how much we use our Tight Ends by keeping their stats quiet against the weak teams...I heard an interview with one of our "beat writers" saying we had a package where we line a tight end up in the backfield. Not sure about it, but I love the way Mullen does that. We aren't like Bama, where we can tell the other team what we're doing and they still can't stop us bc we are better at every position...we have to be a little more deceptive. Or at least Mullen seems to think so.

I really think TE is the key

the only positive matchup I see for us is getting Maloclm or Marcus matched up with an OLB. I think we will have to pass to set up the run and its all gonna be about mismatches with our TE and slot guys as well. We need a huge one from Tuscaloosa native Malcolm Johnson

There is never a good time for an injury. But the Malcolm Johnson injury could be a blessing in disguise. I/you/we know that Nick will prepare heavily for him. And yes, there will be packages similar to the Tenn game. But our number1 best weapon could be the unknown. Milton looked great! I still think we will see J L in the wild cat. And lets not forget about Dak. He is as big as any linebacker they have...well almost.... We have more options on offense then they do. Bammer will not just be able to load the box. I fully anticipate them playing man but with less concentration on blitzing and more on covering our wr options. If our running game can prevent 3rd and longs with some timely gashes and our wr's catch balls they are supposed to catch, we will be in this game till the 4th qrt....and that my friends, is all the chance we need.....see 1980
