C'mon...he wasn't going to be fired for not getting rid of Banker. While true that most of the fans found Banker to be far less than impressive and wanted him to go, Riley at OSU would have been safe either way. The expectations there were low. The question will be whether or not he would give Banker the axe here should that be needed.That is cool. I am glad you are happy with your head coach. He sure is a nice guy.
That doesn't change the fact that the first game he coached, he ended the nations longest season opening win streak. Or that he has only won more than 9 games once in all his time at Oregon State. Doesn't change the fact that he was going to be fired at Oregon State because he wouldn't replace Banker..lucky for him Nebraska came calling when they did.
Continue to have complete blind faith in how great he can be...because Nebraska has better facilities and more money than Oregon State. That person probably knew most everyone there despised Banker. Their defense was atrocious. But I am doubtful this guy knew that Riley was told to fire Banker in order to keep his job. Whatever anyone thinks of Riley, I am sure he could have gone at least another three years there. You could care less... but are freaking put about it.I could care less if anyone likes strong. People basically claimed he was a hack...especially compared to the All star...cough cough...staff that Nebraska hired. I basically said that was ridiculous and backed it up with facts. Still waiting for people to back up their position with something factual, that Nebraska has a head coach and...not one, but two defensive coaches that are better than Strong.
