How often do we open the season in an elite NFL climate controlled stadium? Reliant Stadium sports the largest HD video screens in the world, and the first regular season game played at Reliant Stadium with these new HD screens will be Mississippi State and Oklahoma State.

We will be getting a lot of NATIONAL attention for this game - Big XII vs. SEC - these early out of conference tough games draw a lot more television viewers and national interest than opening against a team we should beat by 50.

Which SEC teams can you recall being selected for this type of exciting season opener? Alabama or LSU, and occasionally Auburn, Florida or Georgia. That's pretty elite company for us to be selected from. What do these early season contests look for? Good teams that will play a competitive game, and a strong showing from their fan base that will fill the stadium up. Our fan base is one of the best in the country! We've sold out Davis Wade Stadium four straight years and we are expanding DWS to over 61000 seats to open the 2014 season. Speaking of the renovated DWS, since we've already set our 2014 season opener in stone against USM, RIGHT NOW IS OUR CHANCE to make a strong impression with the powers that be so that we may be selected for one of these premium season opening games in the future.

and reliant is awesome, but doesn't Jerry's World have the biggest screens? Maybe just the largest hanging ones, they're obnoxious.

edited: I am wrong, the Texans now have the largest screens.

It's too bad that it's being played in the heart of Big 12 country. It will not be a neutral site. I'm glad that we're being paid a lot of money to participate. Hopefully, it will be a competitive game....from start to finish.

I doubt OSU will mobilize like you guys will. I fully expect it to be State heavy. Not quite like the CWS, but largely maroon.

I hear you, but no way I'm giving my money to the big oil boys out in Houston. Plenty of MSU alums out there that can do that, and to be honest, this game is for them. I bet we can probably fill our half of the stadium with just MSU folks living Texas that don't get to go to a whole lot of home games.

I'll let you guys handle this one, and I'll take care of Alcorn State, Bowling Green, etc. My money goes to Starkville.

I'd be surprised if it isn't predominetly an OSU crowd. Their territory and they think they are going to win the conference this year. And they EXPECT to go and watch them cowboys beat up an SEC team. Hope they leave pissed...

I hope you're getting paid to market this game.

I'd be hard pressed to care any less about OSU, the Big12, or Reliant Stadium. I actually can't recall ever being less excited about a season opener.

Gee, I didn't realize people were so sensitive to where a link or reference came from. I thought a state alum on a state board could promote a state game without having to play some kind of psycho games of what site or link goes where. Interestingly enough, the exact same post on 24/7 has drawn no such comments. And to think I was the one that asked people to stop this petty crap about SPS vs Elite.

Seems disingenuous to act like sending people through an link on another message board site was just the best way you could figure out how to point the masses to the ticket website. I can't think of good reason to go about it that way. Seems odd, so folks assume you are trying to drive traffic to a site founded by a dude who keeps a signature on his new site that is derogatory toward this one, which is pathetic by the way.

The word you are looking for is not 'ironic.'

More likely 'coincidental,' used in a sarcastic sense.

Either way, that does not change the point. He went out of his way to direct people to content through message board B while on message board A, instead of just linking to the content directly. Even the biggest idiots on here should be able to see you don't do that without a reason.

Linking the MSU ticket office would've put MSU first. It is silly but it's more silly to pretend like he just happened to think pushing people through ed was the easiest way to convey info. Highly unlikely that anyone on an MSU sports board really needed to be told how to find tickets...

I think the negative reaction is from the both th original post plus subsequent responses acting like it was just happenstance and he thought it would be well received but was shocked that it wasn't.
