every time you think he's hit rock bottom, son of a ***** breaks out a shovel. It will be totally worth it to have a 40 response thread of people bashing him, that's great sports talk.

as far as the enablers let him.
He has banned before, but that was shown wont stick..and he was allowed back.
and furthermore he truthfully cant be banned, as he travels around and would just make new names.

Coach34s only limit to his stupidity is not allowing people to feed him, the board wont run him off..and he now knows this
so he has free will, to do as he pleases. As long as Costanza, HD, and the others keep it up. He will be the face of this board.

"Coach34s only limit to his stupidity is not allowing people to feed him"

For years I have stated that Stansbury is an average coach, recruits pretty well, and has inflated win totals due to playing a weak schedule every year.

So what do you do? You spend hours doing research and putting it together to try and prove me wrong. And from your very own numbers:

1. Stansbury is 10th in SOS in the SEC during his tenure.
2. Stansbury has an abysmal record against the top 25 rated teams (17-44)

When somebody says something you dont agree with, it doesnt make them stupid. And from what I've seen out of your posts, it usually makes them correct. I dont like soccer. At all. I cringe at the thought that one day it might gain in popularity in the US. Right now i'm glad it's stuck in TV ratings right behind woodchopping and badminton, thats where it needs to be.

I just won a new bottle of Captan Morgan from a buddy because I bet him you would turn this thread into a Stansbury bash before it was through.

'Preciate it!

I totally understand; I've read many of your posts.

You don't have an appreciation for the foreplay, the gambits, parry and thrust involved with the flow of the game.
The most popular sport in the world.

I'm not going to pile on you as many others have for your failure to understand complex concepts.

That would not be politically correct.

That kind of stuff is why I can't listen to soccer announcers; they use drastically over-romanticized language to describe a bunch of guys kicking a ball around. It's 17ing stupid.

the only thing better than seeing soccer die a slow painful death is seeing it die when all the guys that didnt make the football team get their hopes up after a few wins

now if only MLS would fold.... dare to dream

That's the whole story.

Go watch golf or bowling, then.
Perhaps NASCAR, wrestling or poker.

I'm guessing you don't like hockey, either.
Nor lacrosse.

Not that you have to.
If you are into Scrabble, I don't have to.

but I do understand your line of thinking. I came on here once or twice yesterday, and you would've thought this was a soccer board. The entire front page was covered with soccer threads.

I'm not a soccer fan, as most of you know. I understand the concept of the game, but I just can't get into the game. Either way, for those of you that are true American soccer fans, you can take comfort in knowing that we would actually be really good at soccer as a country if we actually cared about it. Do you really think Brazil, Spain, England, and Italy have better soccer players than we do? Of course not, but in those countries, soccer is the No. 1 sport that every kid grows up playing, and therefore, the top athletes from those countries play soccer.

In the US, our top athletes play any number of sports above soccer. Soccer is probably 5th or 6th at best in the pecking order of sports in America. Can you imagine if every Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, LaDanian Tomlinson, or Reggie Bush grew up wanting to play soccer instead of basketball or football? The US would be unbeatable in soccer. The only reason we aren't good at soccer is because 95% of the country doesn't care about soccer. The fact that we still field semi-competitive teams is a miracle.

If you can't see that soccer is growing at a rapid pace in America, you're blind. I love how you morons just throw out numbers like they're facts. 95% of Americans don't care about soccer? I'd say 95% of your posts are so long, drawn out, and repetitive, that no one cares to read them. Yesterday, we played Brazil (the best soccer program in the history of the game) to the last minute after we blew a 2 goal lead. The game before that, we beat Spain (the #1 team in the world at the time). I'd say that's a little bit better than semi-competitive.

but its going to be a helluva long time before soccer becomes important in the US- hell, women's basketball gets a higher TV rating than soccer- that should tell you all you need to know right there

The US could be the world leader in soccer- but we don't care to be...until the US starts getting the Lebron's, the Andre Johnson's, and kids that grow up playing shortstop or center field to play soccer, the US is going to be an also-ran.

I was just throwing out a guess, but I do know that football, baseball, and basketball are well ahead of soccer in this country. Soccer falls somewhere around Poker in terms of TV popularity in the US, and that's only when we're talking about the major soccer events, not the MLS, which will fold in the very near future.

Soccer may be growing in popularity in the US, but it will never be in the top 3, and it will struggle to pass hockey for 4th, even though hockey is steadily losing popularity.

It's just not popular in the US, and it will never be a major US sport even if the US were to win the World Cup. And when I say US soccer has been semi-competitive, I'm talking about over a period of years. They put together a good run in this most recent tournament, but the US has never been an international power. I looked it up, and the US finished 3rd in the World Cup in 1930. That's the only Top 4 finish in the history of the tournament for the US. If it was one of the top 2 or 3 sports in the country, the US would dominate it internationally. As it stands, the top athletes in America choose other sports. Soccer gets very few of the top athletes from our country.

I haven't been able to find any concrete stats on the growth of soccer in the US.

It wouldn't shock me if it was growing some in the US at least on the youth level, because it's a fairly simple sport for kids to get involved in. Regardless, somewhere between youth sports and high school sports, it drops in popularity. I played soccer when I was a kid for 2 years, and I probably would've played longer had my mom finally not given in and allowed me to play football, which was played during the same time of year as soccer at that time. I think when I form tackled a kid on a break away during my second season of soccer might have had something to do with her figuring out I needed to play something else.

Anyway, I have read where youth leagues are doing well, but baseball, basketball, and football are still more popular on the high school level and above. Basically when they start forcing you to be good at something to continue playing, the best athletes are still choosing football, baseball, and basketball, and the fans are still choosing to attend those events over soccer games.

Of course, using the number of teams as the deciding factor means NCAA football is less popular than both.
