I don't think it would have played out much differently

Based on what I've seen from him in the immature hat fake, I don't think his commitment would have stuck.

Here's my take:
He came and was having a great time; you know, wowed by the coaches, facilities, campus, teammates, etc. So he commits on the spot. The coaches tell him to settle down and weigh his options before committing right then and there, but Steve caught wind and spewed it out on the twitter-verse (I think).

Seems like he still has a little growing up to do. Would have been great to have a talent like him though.

Neither one had any intention of signing with us.

We didn't have a high enough profile program for them. Same ol **** as usual.

I believe our own teammates were tweeting Mackensie committed. Steve was the 5th person I heard it from. The four others were our players.

Do you not see the hole in your argument? Steve's post was false because he wasn't really committed. So how can Steve's post somehow be the cause he wasn't committed? Your point only makes sense if he really was committed, but that makes Steve's post true. But if he really was committed, and Steve's post was true, then Alexander should not have told him that if he didn't want it out.

Steve has a lot more responsibility about what he reports than our football players. And this is a pattern with him, he would much rather make sure he is first than make sure he is correct.
