We have tried it twice that I remember... Tyson threw it on a line and couldnt jump over the linemans head
and Relf threw one that bounched off the Te's hands and would of been a TD.
I think it is still a great play if you can scheme it right.
Bama is not idiots and knew it was coming after the failed 3rd down. very predictable.
The jump pass is still a great play if it is done properly. The problem is that Meyer has gotten into the habit of using it every 17ing time he gets to the 1-yard line, so everybody knows it is coming.
However, and this may be the barometer for retiring a play- Chris Relf ran it the second (very distant) best. And the it didn't work then. At least Relf had the sense to put it way back where it wouldn't get picked.
Frankly, people got used to his awesomeness, to the point where it didn't seem like he was that good. The dude is basically the best college football player who ever lived.
