I presume they did not like practice after Butler and decided they didn’t want to go through that again.
Everything went MSU's way, weird bounces/deflections/etc...it was one of those special nights.
Pitt looked NOTHING like they have in the past, a team that whooped LSU, West Virginia and beat Ohio St in OT.
Have to give credit to the coaches for getting the players firing on all cylinders.

Jans said on the postgame show that practices this week were very “spirited”. I bet they were.

I knew I recognized one of their bigs last night and finally remembered we played them in the Tourney and got beat by this team.
The important question is: did the guys on the banana suits wear their blackout t-shirts over or under the banana peels?
That was the first thing I noticed when I looked at the stats. If that kind of inside play becomes a regular occurrence this team could be really good.
Did the girls team win against Ga Tech as well? It was close when I last checked and was near the end of the 3rd quarter.
The potential to do that is there but Pitts bigs were really soft. Matthews, Murphy, and Nwoko were having their way in the post.
Man we needed that beat down. Loved every second. No way we can keep up shooting at that percentage but we straight up murdered a very athletic team on the boards. If we can dictate the pace of the game there's not a lot of teams that can hang with us.

Losing the Butler the way we did wasn't reflective of our vibe, toughness, and flow. We played a sh!tty finnesse 3 point shoot out with them and lost, to a weak arse team. Butler is equally as weak as Pitt, we will not lose another game to a team that weak.
Butler had a hot night shooting from outside. Yes there were some possessions where they didn’t play good perimeter defense but Butler was also bombing step back 3s and contested ones too. Just one of those nights.
Yes - Jans talked about how Butler was not a better team and looking at film it was obvious that a pansy team beat them. They took that into practice all week. And what we saw last night was a result of the realization that we will not be played like that.
We stepped back and tried to win with easy 3 point shots instead of manning up and putting Butler in their place.
Pitt got put in their place.
