Georgia down 37 - 17 scores 21 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to take the lead 38 - 37. If Auburn loses that game, the Auburn coaches would be under fire from the fanbase--why couldn't the offense move the ball, why couldn't the defense stop them? But, a fluke play (and it was just that--a fluke play) allows Auburn to win. No (or little) heat from the fanbase as a result. Doesn't change the fact that the offensive and defensive performance in the 4th quarter was dismal. All that matters is the final score. I guess "that's football."

And if not for a soft prevent defense, terrible DB's and a td thrown by a former DB playing only his 3rd game @ QB w/ 11 seconds left they would have lost another one to us

That's Football (for the Unitiated). The uninitiated doesn't understand that it is a rivalry game.
The uninitiated doesn't understand the difference between going from 3 wins to 10 wins in one season.
The uninitiated doesn't realize that Auburn stopped Georgia at the one foot line and the fluke play would have never happened if not for poor television.
The uninitiated doesn't understand that Auburn has been winning in the 4th qtr all season.
The uninitiated doesn't understand that a defense 12th (of 14) in total defense can still win with a competent offensive coach.

They kick a FG and beat us in overtime.

Our offense lost us that game. Defense gave them turnovers at midfield and the offense couldn't do anything.

And played in 13 games as a DB for Georgia the previous year and they go 88 yds in 1:41 to beat us

Speaking of fluke plays, didn't they bounce a pass off one of our defenders and still made the catch for a big play on a scoring drive? GA was second bounce pass they've had this year.

I'm not arguing that he never played DB at Georgia. Just saying that it was not his third game ever at QB.

Having said that, I'm not sure I see your point. Both Jackie Sherrill and Billy Brewer wanted to play Steve McNair at DB. Does that mean McNair couldn't play QB? Alcorn and the NFL knew better. The Auburn kid is a good QB whether he played DB before or not. He's proven it in more games than just ours.

Marshall almost did the same thing in the MS Bowl last year to beat CoLIN. A hail Mary at the end
