Man if I'm Arch I play as long in college as possible. The money is there and the competition is easier. He's already made more than most people will in their lifetime. Why run away from a place where everyone loves you vs. an NFL team where half the fans blame you for everything like they do Dak?
Was talking with a local mouthbreather the other day. He said the Cowboys should dump Parsons for draft picks, get Manning and get rid of Dak. And he was 17ing serious.

On3 estimates Arch's NIL value at $6.8 MM for this year. $2MM more than any other college player, but still less than he would make in the NFL next year.

Maybe he just wants to complete 4 years like Peyton and Eli did. But Im really curious...

1. Arch has several legit deals (EA Sports, Red Bull, Uber) but I wonder how much of his money is from the UT collective front loading his payments this past Spring? Might he take a pay cut if he stays another year?

2. OTOH, maybe he signed a 2 year deal already? Also, if he has the type of year that sets him up as a possible #1 pick, then he might get enough additional NIL money to avoid the potential pay cut.

3. I really hate that this type of money is even part of the conversation.

I doubt his decision will be based on money. He will be looking at it from a longer term perspective. And it may be that he thinks 2 years starting in SEC will better prepare him for a long-term NFL career than just 1 year would.

You have shelf life, and you have to get pass the rookie contract. If you are a sure first rounder you need to go. If money is not an objective, then wait until the right team comes along but the early draft teams each year are the previous year worst team unless trades are made. Just my opinion.

Arch is going to get a chance to prove himself game 1. If Texas wins, arch's Heisman campaign will begin. If Texas loses, the media will question his ability.

What if the NFL wants a Manning in the mix so badly that Arch is not allowed to fail...

That’s true for some positions. But His uncles retired at 39 & 38 years old and it’s not uncommon for a top QB to play well into their late 30s. Most important thing for him is to position himself to be as prepared as possible when he goes into the league & to get on a team that will be a good situation. If that means another year at Texas, that’s no big deal.

I don’t have a problem with the Mannings. As big of a deal as they are to Ole Miss, it’s obvious they aren’t married to Ole Miss like Ole Miss wishes they were. Peyton went to Tennessee. Arch went to Texas. Even Eli didn’t go to Ole Miss because of Ole Miss alone. They had to hire Cutcliffe to get him.
Name a single positive thing the Mannings have done for Mississippi State. Don’t give me “well at least Peyton didn’t go there!” That’s weak. I don’t like Tennessee either.

17 the Mannings.

Hey Archie, don't worry. The Saints see your 2025 warning and raise you 2026 as well. They are well positioned to be in the running for the #1 pick the next two years at least. Bring the golden child home!

If he was playing anywhere else that didn't have that offensive line he may only play 1 year. Think if he was at OM last year and then again this year he would be running for his life. Think about the NFL if the offensive line is not there he is in trouble, think Trevor Lawrence at Jacksonville.

Don't Archie and Payton have losing records against us?

Agreed, 17 the Mannings.
