The basketball team has been much more competitive....

when we haven't had that one additional guy either suspended or injured, which does go to show that we can legitimately expect some improvement simply by having a full 8-10 scholarship players.

If applewhite, Davis, or ready is able to play effectively at pg, I think we'll see dramatic improvement

It'll be more than that, IMO. These kids have been close in a lot of games, get

a PG in the lineup and more players and we'll at least double the win total.

We've lost our 20 games by an average deficit of 20 pts. We really haven't been close in all that many.

I really hope that I end up being wrong, but I just don't know how this team is going to pick up more than an extra 4-5 wins next season.

14-16 next year may be more realistic, but I'd be glad to be wrong about this one.

I think we will schedule our way to 16-18 wins...I dont expect to see any NC's, Texas, or Marquette's on next year's OOC...we could get 11 or so wins in the OOC

We also have 2 wins by 10 or less. Having said that, I'm not sure that this type of analysis has any predictive power for next year. Having said that, if we won ALL of the close games, we'd be 14-14 and 4-11 at this point, and if stand at that record at this pont next year, we'd still be in the bottom quarter of the conference and it won't have been all that special of a season.

You may be right. But its always a tough decision whether to keep those games and have fewer wins, but have a better RPI. I know its highly unlikely, but if something did happen, and we had a big run in the conference, you'd have a shot at a NCAA berth if the conferences overall RPI rebounded.

After a season like this I'd rather get this team some wins. Gotta figure we'll be playing for nit anyway

Rick Ray and the program needs wins next year- schedule that way. Hell, The Recruiter did that almost every year

Worry more abour RPI in 2015

You talked me into it....

because there are also some other SEC teams poised to improve next year and its just not likely that we'll make that run.
