Agreed.

It went live last night around 9pm and the app wouldn't download because millions of people were trying to download it. If you are an IOS geek like me, you will enjoy this app and the functionality of it. Very smooth and fast.

Mapquest also has a good GPS app. Don't know if Google will talk you through your route, but Mapquest will.

Google Maps is now live in the App Store for $Free.99

I've used the google maps that came previously installed with the iphone and never had a problems.

When I updated IOS and had to use Apple Maps, I went on a vacation out-of-state, and had no problems with it. Everything worked perfectly whether using interstate, local streets, farm-to-market roads, etc. I had no problems.

I downloaded the new google maps last night. Just for the heck of it, I punched in my house and office for directions from one to the other. Both are in the same community about 3 miles apart. The google directions had me leaving Gluckstadt driving all the way to downtown Jackson, then back to Gluckstadt. Over 40 mile trip to make a 3 mile journey.

Indeed. Heard the news via Mashable. I've just downloaded Google Maps. Nice... I've tested it out and I already love it.

I didn't experience any issues with Apple Maps either, but im not a heavy user.

The main issue that Apple Maps was having was the lack of transit information in large cities. Google has decades of data collected with real time traffic and bus/subway routes that are important in large metropolitan areas. Usually, a person in Rankin County would not realize if that feature was missing from their Iphone.

For me, the audio is huge. Much easier to just set the phone down and let it talk you through the route than constantly having to pick it up and read both it and street signs in traffic.

Well, I haven't had any issues with the Apple Maps either, besides trying to get that heifer to shut up. I don't like the talky-talky. I'll also go ahead and expose myself as one who purchased the Garmin ap. I hope none of you ever make that mistake. Sadly, it's not one of those "you get what you pay for" situations. Free is definitely better in this matter!
