Needless to say, I'm not the smartest person in the world and because there are just too many moving parts here for my Mississippi education to comprehend....the entire debacle comes down to whichof the two scenariosyou want to believe in regards to MSU's fate (nothing to do with Auburns, thats a whole different subject):
1) When MSU called Slime's office in January, if there had been one hint of any violation the school would have self-reported at that time. If you're here, then you're breathing easy. As far as we know, we didn't self-report any violations. so that tells me we did everything right and we do in fact have a leg up.
2) Due to the delay and indecisive MSU administration's actions, we did in fact start to realize somewhere between January and July that we had broken some type of NCAA rule. This would explain our own slow response and give indication that we would rather Cam play on and for everything to go away. In comes Meyer pushing his ESPN contacts and the thing explodes anyway. Now we are somewhat vunerable due to whatever rule we have broken.
For me, I'm with 1.
